I Owe the Tyrant Four Little Heirs novel Chapter 142

"I'm so sorry. I'll make you a fresh one right away," Niamh said, quickly retreating.

This time, Niamh didn’t add any sugar. But Jareth didn't even taste it before barking at her. "Ms. Lynn, the ideal water temperature for coffee is between 160 and 180 degrees. This is lukewarm at best. How am I supposed to drink this?"

Niamh bit her lip. "My apologies, Mr. Bragg. I'll make another."

She brewed a third cup and brought it to him.

This time, however, Jareth’s complaint was different. "Ms. Lynn, don't you know that serving coffee in a glass mug ruins the flavor?"

Niamh wanted to explode. It's just a cup of coffee! Does the mug really make that much of a difference?

Clenching her fists, she forced a tight smile. "I'm sorry. I'll prepare another one for you."

For the fourth cup, Niamh used water heated to exactly 180 degrees and served it in a ceramic mug with no sugar.

“This has to be it,” she thought.

But after taking a single sip, Jareth fixed her with an icy stare.

Sensing trouble, Niamh asked preemptively, "Mr. Bragg, what's wrong with it this time?"

She couldn't believe it. Four attempts at a single cup of coffee. Anyone watching would think she was a complete idiot.

"It's too weak," Jareth said flatly, his voice laced with disdain.

Too weak?

She had already used two scoops of coffee grounds; it looked plenty strong to her. He was clearly just trying to make her life difficult.

Suppressing the inferno of rage building inside her, Niamh said through gritted teeth, "Alright, Mr. Bragg. I'll make you one more."
