I Owe the Tyrant Four Little Heirs novel Chapter 158

“Lyric!” Niamh exclaimed, her tone reproachful. This wasn’t just about money. By defending them like this, Lyric was only going to spoil them.

Lyric quickly took Niamh’s hand. “Alright, alright, I know what you mean. The quadruplets made a very serious mistake, and they definitely need to be disciplined.”

“Then why are you defending them?” Niamh asked, still upset.

Cassian quickly interjected. “Niamh, what Lyric means is that the children are still young and can be taught gradually. But it’s really late, almost midnight. Shouldn’t we let them go to bed first?”

This only made Niamh more frustrated. “Dad, since when are you and Lyric singing the same tune?”

“Niamh, majority rules. Let the children go to sleep,” Cassian said, his tone firm. He then turned to the quadruplets. “Kids, why don’t you go to your room and get some sleep?”

The four children’s faces lit up, but when they turned and saw the thunderous look on Niamh’s face, they quickly froze.

Keir let out a deliberate yawn. “Aahh, I’m so sleepy.” He nudged Jove and Phaedra. Jove ignored him completely, but Phaedra caught on and let out a series of dramatic yawns. “Aah, aah, aah…”

Niamh shook her head in exasperation. “Tomorrow,” she said with a sigh, “all four of you will face the wall for one hour. Then, one by one, you will tell me exactly what you did wrong. Understood?”

“Understood!” the quadruplets chirped in unison before darting back to their room.

Once they were gone, Cassian turned to Niamh, his eyes filled with concern. “Niamh, why is your boss bullying you?”

“Lyric, I can’t let you do that,” Niamh refused immediately. “I’ve already caused you enough trouble.”

Cassian agreed. “Niamh’s right. We can’t impose on you any more.”

“I want to!” Lyric declared loudly. Without another word, she grabbed Cassian’s wrist and started pulling him toward her apartment.

“Wait, Lyric, this really isn’t appropriate…” Cassian protested as he was dragged along. Lyric had been incredibly kind to Niamh, the children, and to him. He was deeply grateful, but if he started staying at her place, what would that make him?

Lyric paid him no mind, continuing to pull him along. “What’s not appropriate? Our apartments are right next to each other. If we knocked down this wall, we’d practically be living in the same house!”
