I Owe the Tyrant Four Little Heirs novel Chapter 177

Niamh felt a surge of embarrassment and quickly gathered the photos. Keir was really getting out of hand.

Jareth sensed the boy's hostility. After a moment, he said, "Keir, I'm afraid your mother is probably never going to get married."

Niamh bristled. What was that supposed to mean? Why would he say she'd never get married?

"My mommy is amazing! Of course she'll get married!" Keir retorted loudly.

"As long as she has you four in tow," Jareth said matter-of-factly, "she'll never find a husband."

With that, he maneuvered his wheelchair toward Niamh's room.

"Ms. Lynn, I'm a bit tired. I'm going to lie down for a while," he announced. "Wake me at four-thirty."

He hadn't slept at all the night before and was completely exhausted.

"Wait, Mr. Bragg, you can't—" Niamh started to protest, but he had already closed the door behind him.

Her room? How could he just go into her room and sleep in her bed? What was wrong with this man? Just because he'd helped her once, did he think he could do whatever he wanted?

"Mommy, you're doomed," Keir said with a smirk as soon as the door clicked shut.

"What are you talking about, 'doomed'? Watch your mouth," Niamh scolded.

"Mr. Bragg is going to cling to you now," Keir said.

Niamh pressed her lips together, unable to argue.

"Mommy, do you like Mr. Bragg?" Keir asked, his tone probing.

"Jareth, get up!" she yelled, her back turned to him.

Thankfully, the quadruplets were at Lyric's house with her father, who had taken them there so they wouldn't disturb Mr. Bragg's sleep.

As if she cared about disturbing him. A man of his stature, sleeping in his female subordinate's bed—what would his girlfriend think?

"Ms. Lynn, what are you screaming about? Can't a man get some sleep around here?" Jareth's irritated voice came from behind her.

Niamh gritted her teeth. "Mr. Bragg, you're the one who told me to wake you at four-thirty!"

She stormed out of the room. Five minutes later, Jareth emerged, stretching lazily.

"Ah, I haven't slept that well in ages," he said. "Thank you, Ms. Lynn."
