I Owe the Tyrant Four Little Heirs novel Chapter 33

“I’m an honest person, Keir. I never lie,” Niamh insisted.

“I wouldn’t be so sure about that,” he retorted coolly.

“When have I ever lied to you?”

“Do you really want me to expose you, Mommy?” Keir tilted his head, eyeing her skeptically.

“Go on.”

Keir huffed. “This afternoon, you had a sandwich for lunch, but you told me you ate ribs, steak, and shrimp. Is that not a lie?”

Niamh’s heart sank. How did he know? She had packed her sandwich in secret this morning, making sure none of the kids saw.

“Don’t ask me how I know. Just tell me if it’s true or not,” Keir pressed.

“Niamh, are you out of money for food?” Lyric asked from the side, her voice filled with concern. “If you’re short, you can always come to me. I have more than enough, and I’m too old to need much. I don’t know what to do with it all.”

“I have money, Lyric, please don’t worry,” Niamh said. “Besides, your money is yours. I couldn’t possibly take it. My dad just gave me a few thousand yesterday.”

“If you have money, why did you eat leftovers for lunch instead of buying a proper meal?” Keir demanded, his tone accusatory.

Niamh stroked his head gently. “It’s just a habit, sweetie. I’m used to being frugal. Besides, I make a great sandwich, with all sorts of fillings. It’s delicious.”

“You always have an excuse for everything,” Keir grumbled, shooting her a dirty look.
