I Welcome Your Rejection: Angel Kings’ Proud Mate novel Chapter 16

Angel Ronen’s Pov

I draw the curtains of our bedroom window and stare out at the colourful carriages lining up on the path leading to the main palace. They are filled with the most priceless gifts from the rulers of the neighboring kingdoms and rich men of far lands. Some of the gifts are too unique and too huge to fit in carriages, like the mysterious creatures on leash.

It’s astonishing to see carriages bearing the unmistakable emblem of Feldland Kingdom also in the line of carriages bringing precious gifts. King Averton has never been known to submit to any royal. Yet he too has sent tributes to appeal us and our soon to be queen.

The gifts have been arriving throughout the past three days ever since the news of Princess Andria’s incredible gift began to spread. The goal is to show unwavering loyalty and profound admiration to us and the Princess as they understand that her gift is mightier than any magic spell. She can turn mayrs of rogue dragons into our army and we could conquer place we want. Thus no meager gifts like human slaves or exotic horses have been sent.

“How do I look?” our future queen enters the room and spins around in the deluxe wedding dress we ordered made for her, showing us her curves and her enchanting beauty. The dress has sparkling beads of silver and golden threads all over it’s top layer of lace, making it the most exquisite of all wedding dresses ever made.

I have an urge to remove it and make love to her on the bed even before she is officially our queen.

“You look exactly like the special queen everyone thinks you’re,” Tiras answers her.

She smiles and soups like a child towards the bed. “Did you tell your assistant to bring your human mate?” she asks.

“I did. She will be here tomorrow,” Tiras assures.

“She cannot wear a white dress. The guests might confuse who is the bride,” Princess Andria expresses.

Does she worry that our human mate might look better despite being in such a lovely dress?

“Our mate cannot afford a proper dress,” I tell.

“But your assistant can buy one for her,” Princess Andria argues.

It is true that Lior might have bought her a good dress to attend the ceremony. She looked ugly before, but her unique, delicate features would look too perfect if elegantly dressed. People would think that she does not deserve to be rejected so publicly.

We need her to look like the thug she is. Otherwise people might think that she has got something of value.

“I will have some servants take away whatever good cloth our assistant may have bought for her and replace it with a dirty rug,” I say.

That seems to satisfy the Princess as she sighs in relief.

Ira’s Pov

The palace grounds are decorated with the most colourful and aromatic flowers. Servants in neat uniforms line the paths leading to the main palace. They guide the rich and powerful guests towards the entrance of the main palace while the multitudes of commoners are told to stay outside.

Of course only the rich and Royals gets to witness the actual wedding. Unfortunately I am privileged to join them today as my mates needs to let everyone know that I am the human trash they are rejecting and they will be committed to the Princess forever.

Guess they won’t even excuse me to change.

Lior’s Pov

My master’s would cancel this wedding if they knew that their human mate is the one with the power to command dragons. I decided to hide that fact from them as I was already in love with the brave and incredibly wise human and didn’t want them taking her back before they have rejected her.

Linda was right. We could end this by just telling the angel kings the truth. They would get rid of the pretentious Princess, apologize to Ira and even reward me for saving her life. But I want them to reject her so that she can be mine. God knows they do not deserve her after all the pain they have put her through.

I had to make her believe that they do not care about the truth as that is the only way she could agree to come here today to end the mate bond with them. It will definitely be quite humiliating, because every guest will be laughing at her. But once it is done I will make sure that she is as happy as she deserves to be. I will help her find her missing father and she will help me free the people of my pack. I can then be the alpha and she my powerful Luna.

The angel kings made this ceremony the most grand it could be. Even those that have never been loyal to them are in attendance and came bearing gifts for the Princess. She succeeded in fooling everyone except me. But Ira will be mine thanks to her wicked lies.

The angel kings wait at the raised podium as the aging priest announces that they must first reject their ugly and wicked human mate before they can marry Princess Andria.

I am utterly astounded when three guards drag in Ira dressed in what looks like the dirtiest and awfully worn out sack cloth. They have taken away the dress and shoes I bought for her and replaced them with the dirty rug and old sandals. She looks embarrassed as they march her towards the podium. Most guests stare with disgust while others cover their noses as if she stinks.
