I Welcome Your Rejection: Angel Kings’ Proud Mate novel Chapter 33

Ira’s Pov

The Angel Kings were disappointed that I didn’t believe their pathetic lie. They didn’t punish their queen for trying to get me executed even when they knew that she had lied, how can I believe that they will attack King Ademon’s kingdom for me? King Ademon tricked them into giving him massive wealth in exchange for an ugly, powerless Princess. They must be dying for revenge. But did they deserve someone better?

I am sure that King Ademon would regret sending his daughter here if he were to see her in that cell now. Not to mention that the tribute he received wasn’t worth his daughter’s humiliating death tomorrow. Letting him live with the pain is a worse punishment than burning his kingdom and killing him as well.

“He’s alive,” I hear Linda’s voice say from behind and turn.

I was too depressed by the news of my father’s death that I forgot to lock the door to secure more hours of my solitary mourning. Now Linda stands a step inside the room with a tray heaped with rich foods. How did they remember my lunch today? And what is that she just said?

“I had to offer to bring your food to make sure that the angel kings wouldn’t get suspicious,” she explains proudly while striding forward to set the tray down on the bedside table that was added here whilst I was gone.

“You talk like anyone wanted you here?” I say in annoyance.

She still strides closer to my side of the bed with an innocent look. “I came to let you know that your father is alive. The angel kings do not know it yet,” she says.

I have to admit that now she has got my attention. Hope is a pathetic feeling. You would think that after hours of mourning I would have accepted that my father is gone. But I know I would cling to a strand of hope as long as it suggests that there is a chance I can see my father again.

“There is a man outside the palace who knows where the witch is keeping your father. Lior said he will date me if I help you leave this palace so we can go rescue your father and you can help free our pack from it’s enslavers,” Linda informs.

“How does this man happen to know about my father and where he is?” I question.

“He is from King Ademon’s kingdom and has encountered the witch,” she answers.

I am not sure I will make it out as I only know that there is a secret entrance through the prison in the basement. I might fail to find it but I won’t give up until I have tried.

“Lior must know that I helped, otherwise he will think that he doesn’t need me,” Linda presses. “He finally promised that we will become lovers as soon as he frees our pack. I will do anything to make sure that it all goes well.”

Does she really have a mind of her own? If she helps me leave this Palace she will be an enemy of the angel kings as well. Unfortunately Lior isn’t worth it as he is only using her.

“Find me a pair of servant’s uniform. That’s all the help I can take from you,” I say and she nods in satisfaction.
