Ira’s POV
The dragons are wreaking havoc throughout the palace and not even the powers of the angel Kings seem capable of stopping them. Angel Tiras can create bolts of lightening like the skies does. Yet such a great power seems ineffective against the formidable skins of the dragons.
Angel Ronen can create massive flames of fire like burning fuel, but it’s useless against the dragons whose skins do not burn. Angel Adon has the power to create perfect illusions that seem to confuse the dragons. But the gigantic creatures are flying fast, making it impossible for him to fool them all.
“Please help us!” A pair of female servants beg Princess Andria in fear.
“I am sorry there is… nothing I can do against too many of-” she stammers in a terrified voice then runs for her life in her heels as one of the dragons dive down towards us.
The assistant of the angel kings rushes forward with his sword to protect us, like the brave fool can fight a dragon.
I do not like him, but he is the least hateful person I have met in this palace so far. He cannot stop the dragon and we will all die once it releases it’s fire. If my bloodline was special in the manner that my missing father claimed, now is my chance to test that impossible gift as we are about to die. I will need to be alive to suffer the shame of my madness.
“Stop!” I scream just as the dragon is about to unleash it’s flaming breath.
It’s mouth shuts and it turns, leaving us alone. The entire weyr of dragons stop their rampage on the palace as well. Did they just hear and obey my command? I am utterly shocked.
People are still running as the creatures hover above the structures of the palace. I would like the vicious dragons to leave. I like no one here but there are many innocent children who had attended the great cerebration and were only allowed to stay outside. They are still running around in the company if their parents.
“Leave now!” I shout.
Despite the distance between me and the flying dragons they seem to hear the sound of my voice amidst the chaos. They fly away from the skies above the palace, disappearing past the horizon.
As everyone turns to stare in our direction, Princess Andria quickly steps forward, a proud smile plastered across her face which had previously wrinkled in fear. I cannot believe I saved her life. The special gift that I have always doubted I possess saved everyone’s life.
So you can imagine my shock when the angel kings turn and embrace Princess Andria, thanking her for ordering the dragons to leave and saving everyone’s life. No one saw me shout since they were focused on fighting the dragons, so they are assuming that the voice they heard was hers.
I have got the priceless gift of controlling dragons, it’s more than any praise anyone can give. I have no desire to prove myself to my arrogant mates who otherwise not want me. I cannot wait for the day they will discover that their perfect Princess lied and they have no one to save their kingdom.
“You have a heart of gold, Princess. We will make sure that your good father gets an impressive tribute in exchange of letting us make you our beloved queen,” Angel Tiras assures her.
She steps closer to him and takes hold of his hand. Her smile is seductive as she stares straight into his beautiful eyes. “She mutters something in a low tone that makes him smile brightly. He tightens his hold on her hand and the crowd parts to make way as they lead her back into the main palace.
They will give her our mate bond and pay her father a massive tribute. They do deserve a pretentious, wicked queen after all the upsetting things they said to me. Yet it pains my heart because of the mate bond.
I hope they transfer the mate bond soon so I can be paid for my performance and leave their palace.
