Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 474

Hank’s face was stormy as he locked eyes with Clive, practically daring him to answer.

Clive hesitated, and Hank let out a cold, cutting laugh. “Let me spell this out for you, Salmeron—Kristen is the pride of the Watts family. She’s not some helpless girl with no one in her corner. If you think you can use her, waste her time, and then just walk away, you’d better think twice about what that’ll cost you. Ask yourself if you’re really ready for the fallout.”

He never said Amelia’s name, but every word was a dig at her.

He was making it crystal clear: Kristen isn’t like Amelia.

Back then, the Salmeron family only messed with Amelia because she had no one to protect her, nowhere to go. Hank used to think he’d done enough for her, that he’d given her all he could...

Clive finally spoke, steady but quiet. “You have my promise, sir. I’ll take responsibility for Kristen.”

Hank’s glare faded and he finally smiled.

“Good. Tomorrow we’ll get both families together for dinner. Let’s set things between you and Kristen as soon as possible. It’s best for everyone.”

Tomorrow? That was fast.

But Clive couldn’t really say no. He just nodded. “I’ll tell my parents.”

Hank clapped him on the shoulder. “Kristen’s my only daughter. Marry her and the Watts family’s future will be yours too.”

The message was obvious—marry Kristen, get the Watts family’s backing, and Clive’s career would skyrocket.

Clive lowered his head. “Thank you, sir.”

“Alright, go talk to your family and pick a restaurant. I’m going to check on Kristen.”

Hank walked off.

He didn’t go far before stopping at the corner, glancing back just in time to see Clive on his phone, heading for the elevator. Once Clive disappeared, Hank turned toward Kristen’s room.

He opened the door. Kristen looked up right away, searching for Clive. When she realized he wasn’t there, she couldn’t hide her disappointment.

“Dad, where’s Clive?”

Hank sighed, exasperated. “Is there anything in your life besides that man?”

Bianca started to panic. “If Tony takes that and actually gets better, what are we supposed to do?”

Hank sneered. “He’s got to live long enough to take it.”

...

Amelia had just wrapped up a two-hour video call with Susie and the rest of the team. Green Wall was a huge project, and Group A was handling the most critical part on a tight deadline.

After the meeting, Susie popped up in her messages, forwarding a bunch of chat screenshots from Kristen.

Kristen’s messages were all super friendly, calling Susie by name like they were old friends.

Susie texted, “This girl’s nerves are unreal. She sends me ten messages for every one I reply, and she doesn’t even care.”

Amelia grinned. “Anyone bold enough to chase after someone else’s man probably isn’t the anxious type.”

Susie replied, “True! She keeps trying to get info about you. Want me to tell her anything?”
