Karma Doesn’t Sleep: The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 503

“I really don’t know, but I do have some connections. I’ll do everything I can to find out for you,” Mr. Baker said.

“Thank you so much, Grandpa Baker.” Amelia smiled warmly, then dug around in her bag and pulled out a small sachet. “Last time I visited, I noticed you like to use incense—a lot of calming scents, mostly. So I made this herbal sachet for you. Just break off a piece and put it in your incense burner whenever you want. It’s great for relaxing and good for your health.”

It never felt right to show up empty-handed, and honestly, Amelia really did find Grandpa Baker kind and easy to be around.

Mr. Baker looked absolutely delighted, his fondness for Amelia growing by the second.

He’d missed his chance with Eileen all those years ago, but if Amelia ever married into the Baker family...

“Amelia, I’m getting a little tired. I think I’ll go take a nap. Why don’t you let Felix show you around the herb garden out back? It’s a little mountain full of medicinal plants. I think you’d love it.”

Amelia shook her head politely. “That’s all right, Grandpa Baker. I actually have some work to take care of, so I’ll have to pass this time. I’ll come visit again soon, though. Please go ahead and rest—I won’t keep you.”

Her manners were flawless—no one could have found fault with her.

Mr. Baker gave in with a smile. “All right, at least let Felix walk you out.”

Before Amelia could say anything, Felix was already up, gesturing for her to follow him.

Refusing again would’ve just seemed awkward, so she nodded and said goodbye to Mr. Baker, then followed Felix outside.

On the way out, Amelia kept a careful distance, making sure things stayed perfectly polite and comfortable.

Felix let out a small, helpless laugh. “Ms. Sadinton, did I do something to offend you? You always seem a little distant around me.”
