Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 555

Clive barely glanced at her, his face cold and distant, before handing the clothes off to Jillian, who appeared quietly from the hallway.

Jillian spoke up with her usual respect. “Sir, dinner’s ready. Would you like to wash up before we eat?”

Just then, Penny came out of the bathroom.

“Daddy!” she called, running straight into Clive’s arms.

The moment he saw his daughter, Clive’s stern expression melted into a rare smile. He crouched down and scooped Penny up, hugging her close.

“My little princess, how was school today?”

That simple question was all it took for Penny’s brave front to crumble. She buried her face in his shoulder, her eyes filling with tears.

“Daddy, Timmy won’t talk to me anymore…”

Kristen jumped in, her voice soft and comforting. “Penny, your brother would never ignore you. He’s always loved you the most.”

She reached out to touch Clive’s arm. “Clive, why don’t we all take a break this weekend? Let’s bring Penny, have Donna drop Timmy off, and go camping together as a family. It’s been forever since we did something fun like that.”

Clive shook her hand off, his tone icy. “Let’s eat.”

He carried Penny to the table and sat down with her.

Yatalia and Jillian, both loyal to the family’s matriarch, exchanged a knowing look. They didn’t say a word, but the glance they shared was full of schadenfreude. Serves her right. Mistresses never get happy endings.

Kristen forced herself to ignore the humiliation and walked to the table. She started to pull out a chair.

“Not that seat,” Clive said suddenly, not even looking her way. His voice left no room for argument. “Sit somewhere else.”

That was Amelia’s old seat.

Swallowing her resentment, Kristen moved to the chair beside Penny.

She ladled some soup for Penny. When she tried to serve Clive, though, he smoothly shifted out of reach, refusing her help without a word.

Dinner was miserable for Kristen.

After the meal, Clive told Yatalia and Jillian to pack a few things for Penny and take her back to the Salmeron estate.

“What is this?” Kristen’s hands trembled as she picked up the papers.

Clive closed his eyes, rubbing his aching temples. “The next five days are critical for the company’s financing. As my fiancée, you can’t afford to be caught in any scandals. But after that, I want you to turn yourself in. Tell the police the truth. Admit everything you did to Amelia and Penny.”

“Your dad’s already in prison. Who knows who he pissed off this time, but now the company’s finances are under investigation. Most of the Watts family’s assets are frozen. There’s nothing left for you to move.”

Clive’s eyes met hers as she clutched the agreement, her face gone pale, tears streaming down her cheeks.

He pressed his lips together, a trace of sympathy flickering in his eyes.

“I included three overseas properties and a fifty-million-dollar account in the agreement. That should be enough for you to start over after you get out.”

No matter what she’d done, Kristen had spent years by his side.

And more than that—she’d once risked her own life to save him, loved him with everything she had, and even given up her chance at having children, just to be with him.

How many women would go that far for a man?

For all her mistakes, Clive thought, at least her feelings for him had always been real.
