Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 589

Amelia was suddenly tongue-tied.

Calling him a friend? That didn’t feel right at all.

Ryan’s feelings for her were so obvious, so honest, it was impossible to ignore. To her, Ryan was nothing short of a lifesaver. She owed him more than she could ever repay.

“I’m not even sure what to call it,” Amelia admitted with a wry smile. “I owe him so much. He’s... well, he’s done more for me than anyone else ever has.”

Diana narrowed her gorgeous eyes, cutting straight to the chase.

“Babe, you’re the last person on earth who likes to bother other people. Especially someone you’re indebted to. If someone helps you, you’ll move mountains to pay them back, and you’re always extra nice to them. But you’d never put someone you owe as your emergency contact.”

She squeezed Amelia’s shoulders, her voice suddenly serious. “I might not know who this guy is, but it’s obvious he makes you feel safe. Safe enough for you to actually rely on him.”

Amelia froze, caught off guard.

Diana’s words hit home. She really was starting to lean on Ryan more and more...

Diana watched the change in Amelia’s expression, her own gaze turning thoughtful and a little complicated.

She’d known Amelia for years, and she’d never seen her depend on anyone. It was always everyone else who needed Amelia, never the other way around.

But now, while she’d been away, some gutsy guy had managed to sneak right into Amelia’s heart.

Diana quickly dropped her playful attitude. Joking was fine, but if this was real, she needed to be extra careful. After all, Clive—Amelia’s jerk of an ex-husband—was still a fresh cautionary tale. When Amelia cared about someone, she gave them her whole heart, no holding back.

“So, who is this guy?” Diana asked, suddenly all business, like an overprotective big sister. To win Amelia’s trust so quickly, he had to be something else.

Diana smirked, totally confident. “He’s seen my movies, right? Maybe he’s a fan—at least he’s got good taste. Tell him I’m much friendlier in person. I’m not as glamorous and intimidating as I seem on screen.”

By now, they were heading down the stairs into a hallway, lights shining on both sides. At the end was a door left slightly open—must be the library.

Amelia made for the door, but Diana caught her hand, making her promise. “Amelia, tomorrow. You have to bring him to meet me.”

Amelia thought about Ryan’s current situation—it wasn’t exactly easy for him to go out right now. But if they found the ancient book today, she’d have to bring the new formula to Ryan anyway.

Thinking it through, she finally nodded.

“He’s not really up for going out right now. But tomorrow, I’ll bring you to see him.”
