Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 594

Clive knelt down and whispered something to Timmy. When he finished, he tousled Timmy’s hair and sent him off.

Amelia didn’t ask Timmy what Clive had said. She trusted her son to make his own choices. She might dislike Clive, but she’d never force Timmy to cut ties with his dad.

“Let’s go, Timmy,” she said, guiding him into the car.

“Bye, Mrs. Sadinton! Bye, Timmy! Bye, pretty lady!” Jinx waved enthusiastically, his little hand in the nanny’s as he left.

Amelia watched Jinx until he disappeared, then glanced over at Clive. Penny was already in their car. Clive was heading for the driver’s seat. Their eyes met for a second and Clive paused, but Amelia quickly looked away and got in her own car.

During the drive, Timmy and Diana hit it off. By the time they reached the cozy restaurant Diana had booked, Timmy was already calling her his godmother.

The three of them had a warm, laughter-filled dinner. Afterward, Diana put on her hat and a light scarf, and they strolled through the neighborhood.

While they walked, Diana’s phone rang. It was her agent, reminding her about a charity gala she needed to attend the next night.

Diana frowned, clearly annoyed. “Is there any way I can skip it? I already have plans.”

She’d been hoping to meet the guy who had caught Amelia’s attention.

Her agent sighed. “Not everyone gets a chance like this, Diana. There’ll be big names at the gala. The more people see you, the better your chances for funding your next project.”

Diana gave in. “Fine. I’ll head back to the hotel soon and start trying on dresses.”

After she hung up, Amelia smiled at her. “You can always meet him another time. Besides, you already know him.”

“I do?” Diana immediately thought of someone. “Will?”

“Nope,” Amelia said, and dropped the name. “It’s Ryan.”

Amelia expected Diana to jump in surprise, but instead, Diana just paused and then smiled like it all made sense.

“Oh, him…”

If it was Ryan, well, that explained everything. Whether she met him or not, whether she acted as a gatekeeper or not, it didn’t really matter anymore.

Amelia was a little thrown by Diana’s reaction. “You don’t seem surprised at all.”

Diana put her hands on Amelia’s shoulders and grinned. “Remember when you called me after your surgery and asked how I knew your favorite flower was the yellow rose? I told you—Ryan was the one who told me.”

Amelia walked into her study and opened her laptop. Almost immediately, a video call request popped up—Dr. Wade, calling from overseas.

She accepted the call, and Dr. Wade’s face filled the screen.

“Dr. Wade.”

“Amelia, I looked over the notes and equations you sent. Some of it is outside my field. My main research is in advanced renewable polymers. Still, I showed the material to a physicist I know. He said it looks like work on rearranging matter at the microscopic level. But some of the equations were unfamiliar to him, like they might be made up or just wrong.”

Given her grandfather’s illness and memory issues, Amelia wasn’t surprised by the mistakes.

She pressed on. “Dr. Wade, can you explain more about microscopic restructuring?”

Dr. Wade adjusted his glasses. “Every object is made up of tiny particles. If you could break something down into those particles and record their exact arrangement, in theory, you could transmit that information somewhere else—or even to a different time—and reconstruct the object there. That’s the basic idea behind teleportation across space and time. Right now it’s just a theory, but with enough advances, it could be possible someday.”

Amelia paused, thinking about her grandmother’s body, perfectly preserved in amber. The thought sent a shock through her chest.

She forced herself to stay calm. “So, Dr. Wade, you’re saying that in the future, it might actually be possible to send something from now back to the past?”
