Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 595

“With our current tech, there’s just no way,” Dr. Wade said. “Maybe in a few decades, when someone genius enough comes along, it’ll actually happen. Amelia, if you ever switch over to physics, you might be the one to pull it off someday.”

He was half-joking, but Amelia couldn’t even muster a smile.

It felt like she was standing at the edge of some huge, impossible truth.

What if her grandmother hadn’t been preserved by anything modern, but with technology from the future? And those messy research notes her grandfather left behind—were they just mistakes, or did they come from knowledge he shouldn’t have had yet?

Her head throbbed with questions.

She spent the whole night glued to her computer, falling down rabbit holes about time travel and preservation. By the time the sun came up, she hadn’t closed her eyes once.

When Amelia finally wandered into the kitchen the next morning, she startled Donna so much she nearly dropped a spoon.

“Ma’am, did you stay up all night?”

“Yeah. I’ll get some sleep after breakfast. Donna, can you pick up Timmy for me tonight?”

“Of course, ma’am. Please eat something and go rest.”

Donna had made oatmeal for breakfast. Amelia took a sip and felt the warmth settle in her stomach. Outside, the trees were already turning gold. Fall had arrived.

“Donna, we’re moving in a few days. I bought back my old place. We’ll be living there again.”

“Okay, ma’am.”

After breakfast, Amelia headed straight for her room and collapsed into bed. She didn’t even notice she’d left her phone in the study. While she slept, a call came in from overseas, rang three times, and cut off.

But her sleep was anything but restful.

Her dreams were strange and unsettling. First, she dreamed of Timmy and Penny—the three of them laughing together. Then Kristen showed up. Penny let go of her hand and ran straight to Kristen. Amelia tried to grab her daughter back, but a knife suddenly stabbed through her palm.

The ground vanished. She plunged into a bottomless pit. When she opened her eyes, she was trapped inside an amber coffin, and Ryan’s face hovered above her…

She woke with a gasp, heart racing. It was already afternoon.

She splashed cold water on her face in the bathroom, trying to shake off the nightmare.

Back in the study, her computer was still open, tabs everywhere—a wild trail of late-night searches about time travel. It all sounded ridiculous, but she’d seen that amber coffin herself, and her grandmother lying inside, as if she was just sleeping.

Only her grandfather, Tony, might know the truth. But Tony wasn’t in any state to talk. And Ryan—the one who’d stashed Tony away in that fancy care home—probably knew more than he let on. Maybe the whole Packman family was behind it…

“Amelia, thank you—”

Amelia just squeezed her shoulder and headed straight for the doctor. “I’m RH negative. I can donate.”

The doctor whisked her away for a quick check, then started drawing her blood. The needle slipped in, and her blood flowed out, dark and steady.

Belle stayed by her side the whole time, watching Amelia’s face turn paler by the minute. She squeezed Amelia’s free hand, eyes full of tears.

“Amelia, if you feel dizzy just say so. Don’t force yourself.”

“Don’t worry. Back in college…” Amelia thought of the time she’d nearly given her life to save Clive after his accident. But she just smiled softly. “I’ve given more before. I’ll be alright.”

When it was over, Amelia sat in the waiting room to rest while Belle ran off to get her some food.

A little while later, the elevator doors slid open. Cameron, who’d just finished visiting Kristen, was on his way out. The moment he stepped out, he spotted Amelia.

His mood instantly soured.

Clive had just arrived at the hospital, and now here she was—showing up like she always did. It was like she never left, always haunting him.
