Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 608

Timmy hesitated, his voice barely above a whisper. “Mom, are you coming to the parent-kid day at school this weekend?”

“Of course I am,” Amelia replied, her smile warm and reassuring. “I won’t miss any of your events, not ever again.”

Timmy glanced up at her, uncertainty flickering in his eyes. “What about Penny’s stuff? Will you go to her events too?”

Amelia’s smile wavered for a second. She reached over and gently ruffled his hair. “If… if Penny really wants me to go as her mom, then yes. I’ll be there.”

Timmy’s eyes shone with something fragile. “Mom, I know Penny wants you there. She just won’t admit it… I was worried you were still mad at her. I thought you hated her. That you’d never want anything to do with her again.”

What mother could ever truly hate her own daughter?

Amelia wasn’t angry anymore—just hurt, deep down. She’d stopped trying to force things.

She stayed with Timmy for a while longer, playing together until it got late. Then she nudged him off toward the bathroom. “Go shower and get to bed, okay?”

Once alone in her room, Amelia closed the door and pulled out a strip of bloodstained gauze. She’d snipped it off in secret while Ryan was out fetching the painting.

She picked up her phone and dialed. “Greg, I need a favor. Can you run a test on some blood I found? I’ll bring it to your lab at nine tomorrow morning.”

“No problem,” Greg answered right away, no questions asked.

Amelia set the gauze aside and took out the painting she’d brought back. She remembered reading something online: a camera is like a person with feelings—if someone loves you, they’ll always make you look beautiful in photos.

Even after waking, her body had healed faster than it should have. With acupuncture and determination, she’d almost fully recovered within a week.

“This is absolutely not human blood,” Greg said, excitement and fear mixing in his voice. “Most of the components match, but the cell ratios are totally off. It’s like human tissue was broken down and put back together all wrong. The cells even devour each other. It’s… honestly, it’s terrifying.”

The truth was right there in front of her.

She’d ruled out every other possibility. No matter how impossible it seemed, the only answer left was the real one.

“Greg, I promise I’ll tell you everything one day. But not yet.” She said goodbye, then headed back to her car, sitting there for a long time, piecing together every moment, every clue—finally seeing the whole story laid out before her.
