Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 619

The next morning, Amelia set her alarm an hour early just so she could take her time getting ready.

Last time she’d dropped Penny off at school, she hadn’t bothered with makeup, and Penny had been mortified. She’d begged Amelia to park way down the street so none of her classmates would see her. Even though Timmy was always full of compliments, Amelia couldn’t help but wonder if he secretly compared her to other moms too.

“Morning, Mom,” Timmy mumbled, shuffling out of his room, his hair sticking up in every direction. He stopped dead when he saw her all dressed up, eyes going wide. “Whoa. Are you a fairy or something today?”

Timmy always knew exactly what to say to make her feel special.

Amelia spun around for him. “So, what do you think? Is this okay for your school’s family day?”

“You look amazing! Like, really, really pretty. Like a fairy, for real!” Timmy grinned, then squinted at her. “But, Mom, I thought you didn’t like makeup?”

Usually, when she went to work, she’d just splash her face with water, put on some moisturizer, and be out the door in five minutes.

Timmy looked at her seriously. “You’re always super pretty, with or without makeup. You should just do whatever makes you happy, Mom.”

A rush of warmth filled Amelia’s chest. “Thank you, sweetheart. I don’t usually have time to get all fancy for work, but today I wanted to look my best for you.”

Without another word, Timmy ran over and hugged her tight.

“I’m just so glad you’re here and you’re my mom,” he said, muffled against her shoulder.

Amelia’s eyes stung, and she had to blink fast.

“I’m not going anywhere, honey. Never again.”

Diana: [Omg! I didn’t even notice! I’m seriously killing it!]

Amelia could just imagine Diana hyping herself up on the other end, and she couldn’t help but laugh. Almost instantly, Diana’s video call popped up.

As soon as Amelia answered, Diana’s eyes widened at the sight of her friend’s flawless makeup.

“Girl, with a face like yours, you’re totally wasted in a research lab! I was gonna remind you to glam up for the school event—especially since that loser Clive is bound to show up. You need to make him eat his heart out. But clearly, I don’t have to worry!”

Diana grinned proudly, like she was Amelia’s big sister.

“Come on, show me your outfit! Let me see the full look.”
