Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 638

“Hi, I’d like to book an appointment with Dr. Donald.”

Dr. Donald had been her doctor back then.

Amelia sat in the hallway, waiting almost an hour before the nurse finally called her name.

“Number 19, Amelia.”

Dr. Donald, who’d been buried in paperwork, snapped his head up at the sound. When he saw her, a flicker of panic crossed his face.

“Mrs. Salmeron—”

“I’m divorced now, Dr. Donald,” Amelia said, taking the seat across from him.

He barely missed a beat. “Oh. Ms. Sadinton. What brings you in today?”

“Actually, Dr. Donald, I need to talk about something personal.” She didn’t give him a chance to refuse. “If you don’t tell me today, I’ll just come back tomorrow. And the next day. I’m pretty stubborn when I want answers.”

Her voice was soft, but there was a quiet, stubborn strength behind every word.

Dr. Donald let out a resigned sigh and signaled for the nurse to leave them alone.

Once the door clicked shut, he took off his glasses and rubbed his face like he was bracing himself.

“Dr. Donald,” Amelia asked, her tone calm but direct, “my waking up wasn’t some kind of miracle, was it?”

She’d spent a long time piecing it together. She’d been in a coma, trapped in her own body, but aware. She could hear everything, feel the world moving around her—even though she couldn’t open her eyes. For the longest time, she’d convinced herself it was fate, some kind of grace from above.

But now, she knew better. What had saved her wasn’t luck or prayers.

“It was Ryan, wasn’t it?” His name slipped out, soft and trembling, sending a shiver through her.

Dr. Donald dabbed at his forehead, clearly uncomfortable. “Ms. Sadinton, I didn’t say anything.”

But he didn’t have to. She could tell.

Amelia’s gaze dropped, and hot tears started to hit her hands, one after another. Her voice was rough and thick. “He… he gave me his blood, didn’t he?”

Dr. Donald looked stricken.

With that, she turned and walked out.

Rain was coming down in gentle sheets outside. Amelia let it soak through as she made her way to the car. Once inside, she rested her head on the steering wheel. At first, she tried to hold it together, but then the tears came hard and fast, her whole body shaking as she broke down in the quiet car.

She didn’t know how long she stayed like that. Eventually, she wiped her face, pulled out her phone, and sent a message.

Amelia: Ryan, I want to see you.

Of course, his reply came right away. It always did.

Ryan: Sure. Do you want me to pick you up?

Amelia: No, just wait for me at home. I’ll come to you.

All these years, he’d always been the one running to her.

This time, she wanted to go to him.
