Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 650

Clive stared at Amelia, stunned by the look of scorn on her face. He opened his mouth to say something, but nothing came out. Her reaction had completely thrown him.

He’d come here planning to play dirty. If Amelia didn’t know Ryan was the reason Kristen left, Clive was ready to take the credit for it, hoping she’d at least be a little less cold toward him. And if she did know Ryan had secretly taken care of Kristen? Even better. The Amelia he knew was all about kindness and principles. Seeing Ryan abuse his power should have been a hard line for her.

“Amelia,” Clive tried, frowning, desperate to make her see sense. “Ryan’s obsessed with you right now, sure. He got rid of Kristen for you. But what happens if he loses interest? What will he do to you then? What happened to Kristen could just as easily happen to you.”

He leaned forward, his tone urgent. “You’re a genius in your field, and yeah, you’ve got a whole team backing you up, but if Ryan ever decides to come after you, nobody can protect you. You and Ryan are from two completely different worlds. Even if you won’t think about yourself, think about your kids. A guy like Ryan is capable of anything. What if he ever decides to hurt Timmy and Penny…”

“Shut up!” Amelia’s whole body shook as she tried to keep it together, but her anger was barely contained. Her eyes burned with rage. “I don’t care what happens to Kristen and her family. And don’t you dare act like every man is as selfish and disloyal as you. You couldn’t hold a candle to Ryan. Even if the whole world turned its back on me, he wouldn’t. He loves me. More than anyone else ever could.”

The way she choked up defending Ryan, Clive honestly wondered if she’d been hypnotized or something.

“How long have you even known him?” Clive demanded, his voice tightening. “What did he do, put a spell on you? Back in college, you couldn’t stand the guy. And now you’re suddenly in love? Amelia, you’re still too naive. You don’t know anything about men.”

“Leave. Right now.” Amelia didn’t want to waste another second on him. If Timmy wasn’t downstairs, she would have grabbed a broom and chased Clive out herself.

It was their old hangout, a high-end private club where nobody asked questions. Clive tossed his keys to the valet and told them Michael’s name. A hostess who looked like she’d walked off a runway led him straight to the private room.

Inside, Michael was already there, along with a few other familiar faces. They were all friends from way back, the kind you’d party with but never really trust. A couple of young celebrities were mixed in for fun.

Clive gave a quick nod and was about to sit next to Michael when he spotted someone half-hidden behind a Roman column in the corner. Cameron.

Their eyes met. Michael, worried they’d start fighting again, quickly jumped in. “Guys, come on. We’ve known each other since we were kids. No need to let a woman mess that up. Especially not her. She’s not worth it, all right?”
