Zoya asked. “But don’t you think standing outside the memorial hall and waiting is too conspicuous and also a bit tiring?”
Wren was already exceptionally handsome, so his sudden presence in front of the Lucero memorial hall naturally drew occasional glances from passersby.
Even now, she had only been out for a short while, and several passersby were already frequently glancing at Wren.
“No,” he replied calmly.
“Alright.” Zoya touched her nose.
The matter of coming to the memorial hall today was settled anyway, so she said, “Let’s head back.”
As she spoke, she walked ahead.
“Zoya!” His voice suddenly echoed behind her.
Her steps paused, and she turned to look at him.
“As long as you don’t leave me, I will always wait for you like this,” he said suddenly.
She was stunned for a moment before thinking, ‘What does he mean by that?
“What did he mean by “always waiting for me”?”
However, Wren didn’t say anything more. He pulled Zoya and walked to the side of the road.
A silver Maybach was already waiting there.
The two got into the car.
Wren asked, “When is your parents’ funeral?”
“In three days,” Zoya replied.
I will attend their funeral,” he said.
“You?” she asked, somewhat surprised.
“They are martyrs and your parents, so I should be there,” Wren said.
Zoya gazed blankly at Wren, then after a moment, she said, “Okay.”
After they returned to Wren’s villa, Zoya went back to her bedroom. Then, she received a call from Eowyn.
“How are things in Marabotara?” Eowyn asked with concern.
Zoya replied, “Everything is going smoothly.”
“So, your parents’ ashes are now…”
“They were placed in the Lucero family Memorial Hall and will be buried in the Martyrs’ Cemetery here in Marabotara three days later,” Zoya said.

“That’s good. Your parents can rest in peace soon,” Eowyn said. “Oh, by the way, Harvey and I will come to Marabotara then!”
You’re coming to Marabotara?”
“Of course we’ll be there for your parents’ burial,” Eowyn said matter-of-factly.
She had met Zoya’s parents. They were exceptional people, highly knowledgeable and gentle, yet fearless in the face of danger.
When she learned of her parents’ accident that year, she held Zoya and they cried together for a long time.
Now, she felt that she must attend their funeral and see them off.
“That’s good. My parents will be very happy to know you came to send them off,” Zoya said.
“Oh, by the way, there’s something else I need to tell you,” Eowyn added, “Do you know Jasmine has been detained?”
“Detained?” Zoya was taken aback.
Eowyn said, “When she was at the airport, she deliberately caused trouble and insulted your parents’ ashes. How could she get away with it?
“The military later reported it to the police, and there were so many witnesses at the scene. She will be detained for 10 days.
“Although it’s not a charge that will land her in prison, with this detention and an administrative punishment record, Jasmine’s career as a co-pilot is finished. Perhaps she won’t even be able to be a co-pilot again!”
The thought of Jasmine in the detention center filled Eowyn with satisfaction.
She added, “Nicolas is pulling strings to keep Jasmine from getting an administrative punishment record. But what he doesn’t know is that no one would dare get involved in Jasmine’s mess!”
Jasmine disrespected the martyrs, and the military was furious.
Those soldiers who shed their blood and sacrificed their lives for the country would never tolerate someone deliberately making trouble for the families of martyrs and even trying to open the urn for inspection.
If Jasmine had really opened the urn for inspection, then she would probably end up facing a three-year prison sentence instead of detention.
In fact, if the military hadn’t intervened, Zoya would have taken action once her parents were settled.
She would not forgive Jasmine for insulting her parents’ ashes like this,
Since Jasmine did it, she must face the consequences.
As for Nicolas, he was now a stranger to Zoya.
Eowyn chatted with Zoya for a while longer and asked, “Where are you living now? In your old home?”
Zoya replied, “No, that house has been empty for too long and is in disrepair.
“It’s probably not suitable for living in. I plan to renovate it when I have time. Right now, I’m staying in Wren’s villa.”
“What?” Eowyn’s voice on the phone clearly rose in pitch and tone.

She asked, “You’re living in Wren’s villa? Are you moving in with him? When did your relationship become like this?”
Zoya rubbed her temples. “It’s not like that. I’m temporarily working as Wren’s bodyguard for the next three months. After that, we’ll go our separate ways.”
Eowyn asked in surprise, “Why are you his bodyguard?”
“The situation is a bit complicated, and I was entrusted with the task,” Zoya said.
After all, it involved the military, so there were some things she could not disclose.
“Alright. I understand!” As long-time friends, Eowyn knew immediately upon hearing this that Zoya had reasons she couldn’t disclose.
“But since you’ll be with Wren for three months, be careful. Haven’t people said he’s temperamental? He might just take it out on you if something displeases him!” Eowyn warned.
Zoya recalled scenes of Wren respectfully bowing three times before her parents’ urns at the funeral home in Ranard City, and him waiting for her at the entrance of the Lucero family Memorial Hall.
She also recalled his recent offer to send her parents off.
“He actually has a good side,” Zoya said, “Perhaps he’s not really like the rumors claim.”
Rumors said that Wren was a madman who was insane and ruthless.
Yet last night, the man she saw was as vulnerable as a child.
“Wow, you must be falling for him,” Eowyn said, “After all, Wren’s appearance is truly alluring!”
“No, you’re overthinking it!” Zoya rolled her eyes speechlessly. “I’m not stupid. How could I fall for Wren?”
“Really? Well, it’s good you didn’t fall for him. When you return to Ranard City, I’ll introduce you to some handsome guys!” Eowyn said excitedly.
However, Zoya fell into silence.
“Zoe, what’s wrong?” Eowyn asked.
“Nothing, I suddenly have something to do. I’ll call you back when I’m free!” Zoya said, then ended the call.
She then looked at Wren, who was standing at the bedroom door, staring at her expressionlessly.
She thought, “When did he show up at my door? How much of my conversation did he hear?’
Their eyes met. Just then, Wren suddenly walked up to her.
Then he parted his thin lips slightly and suddenly said, “Is falling for me stupid?”
Zoya thought, ‘Holy crap. He heard me!’
