Zoya’s hand, gripping her phone, paused as she looked at Wren with surprise.

She felt that this was quite a coincidence.

“What’s wrong?” Harvey asked, then followed Zoya’s gaze and saw Wren.

Harvey frowned slightly, and a look of vigilance flashed across his face.

For some reason, the brief moment he made eye contact with Wren through the glass window filled him with a sense of danger.

It was as if something he had been guarding was about to be taken away:

“Eowyn and Harvey just arrived in Marabotara, so I’m having a meal with them,” Zoya replied to Wren.

Zoya paused, then saw Wren striding towards her.

Eowyn subconsciously looked at Zoya.

“Then let’s eat together,” Zoya said decisively, asking a server to bring another set of utensils.

Wren sat down unhesitatingly, directly opposite Harvey.

The four of them sat around a square table.

Zoya ate her meal while Wren and Harvey looked at each other, and a strange atmosphere filled the air.

Eowyn looked left and right, observing the two men, and cleared her throat, attempting to ease the awkward atmosphere.

Harvey’s eyes flickered, as if in thought.

“Oh, right, why aren’t you eating? The dishes will get cold,” Zoya urged.

“Yes, let’s eat!” Eowyn quickly agreed, picking up her fork and starting to eat again.

Harvey pursed his thin lips, then resumed eating.

Zoya looked at Wren. “The food here isn’t as exquisite as what you usually eat. Can you get used to it?”

Wren replied, “I don’t only eat refined food. I’ve eaten dishes far worse than these.”

He thought, ‘Sometimes, to survive, I can eat tree bark and dirt!’

Zoya was slightly taken aback, but she didn’t ask anything further, continuing to eat her meal.

Wren picked up his fork and began eating. In contrast to Harvey’s straightforwardness, his manner of eating conveyed a sense of elegance.

“Mr. Richmond, you’re really jesting,” Harvey said with displeasure.

Wren said lightly, “I never joke.”

“Then I’m really curious to know what kind of much worse-tasting food you are talking about. I’d really like to try it and see how bad it can be.”

“Tree bark. If Mr. Crawford is interested, you may try it,” Wren said unhurriedly.

“Wren!” Harvey glared.

“You don’t believe my words? Or are you trying to make an enemy of me?” His pair of ink-black eyes slowly lifted, yet gave off a strong sense of oppression.

Immediately, the atmosphere at the dining table turned cold again.

Eowyn felt as if eating this meal was giving her indigestion.

Finally, Zoya broke the silence and said, “Eat.”

Only then did the two prodigies from Ranard City’s circles obediently begin to eat.

Although there were two handsome men at the table, the atmosphere was truly a bit uncomfortable.

After the meal, Eowyn felt as though she had aged years.

He asked, “Mr. Crawford, won’t you let go?”

Harvey sneered, “I’d like to see you try!”

The atmosphere between the two men rapidly deteriorated again.

“That’s enough!” Zoya abruptly pulled her hand away from Harvey’s fingers, then pulled Wren’s hand away from Harvey’s wrist.

She then looked up and said seriously to Wren, “Don’t touch my friend, or I won’t go easy on you.”

Immediately, she turned to Harvey and said, “I currently need to work as Wren’s bodyguard for a period, so I will be living

with him.”

Harvey was startled. “Bodyguard? Did he threaten you?”

“No,” she said.

“Then why?”

He knew that it must be some kind of mission, so she couldn’t say.
