On the Ruins of His Regret I Soar novel Chapter 196

“Say that again,” Willie growled, his voice a low rumble from deep in his chest.

Jessica crossed her arms. “Look at what you’ve done, Willie. You’ve been married for over a decade. Did you not think this day would come when you betrayed her? You’ve known her for twenty years. Did you forget what kind of person Lillian is? She’s never been one to tolerate betrayal.”

With that, Jessica stepped away, finished with the conversation. In her eyes, unfaithful men were rotten to the core, their very presence reeking of decay.

Willie ignored her and ran to the operating room door, pounding on it with both fists. “Open this door! How dare you? I’m her husband! I haven’t signed anything! You have no right to perform this procedure! You’re breaking the rules! Stop! Open the door!”

The door rattled under his assault. Security guards came running, ready to remove him. Lance stepped in, managing to calm Willie down just enough to send the guards away.

Willie collapsed onto a chair, burying his face in his hands. “We… we’ve been married for more than ten years, and we never had a child. Now, we finally have one, and…”

“Willie, you need to talk to Lillian,” Lance said softly. “Win her back. Once she forgives you, you can have another child. This proves there’s nothing wrong with either of you. You can conceive.”

“Really?” Willie asked, his face streaked with tears.

Lance’s gaze flickered to Jessica, who stood a short distance away. “Yes.”

Willie said nothing more.

Soon, the door opened, and Lillian walked out alone, her hands pressed to her lower abdomen. Jessica hurried forward, but Willie was faster.

“Lillian,” he said, his voice filled with pain, “what have you done? We finally had our own child. How could you get rid of it?”

That afternoon, Willie returned with a bouquet of flowers and some nutritional supplements. He saw Lillian’s pale face and felt a pang of heartache. “Lillian, you’ve been through so much. We’ll have other children in the future.”

He turned to set the items down.

“Willie Brown, let’s get a divorce,” Lillian said, her eyes still closed. “I can’t do this anymore.”

Willie’s back was to her, his eyes moist. “Lillian, I love you. You know I only love you.”

Lillian laughed, a hollow sound. “So you sleep with other women because you love me? If she had been a prostitute, I wouldn’t be this angry. But she was Isabella Charles’s niece. Is that how you love me?”
