On the Ruins of His Regret I Soar novel Chapter 205

Out in the hallway, Jessica looked at Rebecca, who was clearly even more furious than she was, and gently patted her back.

“I’m fine,” Rebecca huffed. “I’m just so sick of that cheating bastard.”

“This is my fault,” Jessica said, blaming herself. “If I hadn’t wanted to invest, Lance wouldn’t be going after you just to get back at me. What are our chances now?”

Rebecca took a deep breath. “Honestly? It started as a small streaming company, but for some reason, a lot of big players have taken an interest lately. Most of the independent bidders like us have already dropped out. It’s down to The George Group, The Smith Group, and us.”

Jessica’s heart sank.

If Lance had been her only major competitor, she would have fought tooth and nail. But with The George Group also in the mix, their chances seemed practically nonexistent.

Rebecca sighed. “Don’t worry. If it doesn’t work out, we’ll start from scratch. I’ll start looking for office space. It’s just a streaming company. I refuse to believe I can’t build one myself.”

She gave Jessica’s arm a squeeze. “You should get some rest. I’m heading home.”

“Drive safe,” Jessica called after her.

“I know, I know,” Rebecca replied, waving over her shoulder as she walked away.

Willie Brown handed Lillian Clark the divorce papers. “Take a look. If there are no issues, sign it.”

Jessica was in the room with Lillian, keeping a watchful eye on Willie in case he lost his temper.

Lillian read through the documents carefully, flipping through each page.

Willie sneered. “Reading it so closely? Worried I’m trying to trick you? After all these years of marriage, that’s what you think of me.”

Lillian didn’t look up. “We were husband and wife. Now we’re strangers.”

Willie didn’t budge.

Jessica brought Lillian a glass of water.

Willie licked his lips. “Jessica, not even going to pour me a glass?”

Jessica pretended not to hear him.

Lillian finally finished reading, signed her name, and handed one copy to Willie. “Everything looks fine to me. Let me know when you’re free so we can finalize the divorce.”

Willie nodded curtly. “The sooner the better. I can’t get remarried until this is done.”

Lillian smiled faintly. “Since we’re on the same page, let’s go on Monday.”

Willie’s eyes widened, shocked by her decisiveness.
