On the Ruins of His Regret I Soar novel Chapter 206

“Is there a problem?” Lillian asked.

“Of course not,” Willie said through gritted teeth. “I’m just as eager as you are. If tomorrow wasn’t the weekend, I’d go then.”

Just as he finished speaking, Catherine Brown knocked and entered, followed by Sarah Charles, who was holding two cups of bubble tea.

“Willie,” Sarah said, beaming, “I got a little lost, but I ran into Catherine. I brought you a drink.”

She handed the bubble tea to Willie. “I’ll wait for you outside.”

“Wait,” Willie said, taking her hand. “No need. We’re done here. Let’s go together.”

Sarah looked down at their joined hands and nodded enthusiastically, her eyes curving into happy crescents. She whispered, “Is that Lillian?”

“She’s more than ten years older than you,” Willie said in a doting tone.

Sarah smiled at Lillian. “Lillian, you’re very beautiful.”

Lillian lowered her eyes and said nothing.

Jessica stood up. “If there’s nothing else, you should all leave.”

Willie shot Jessica a glare.

Catherine took Sarah’s arm. “This is the Jessica I was telling you about.”

Sarah greeted her, but Jessica just sneered. “Get out. Don’t disturb the patient.”

Sarah looked crestfallen and clung to Willie’s arm. “Jessica doesn’t like me.”

Jessica quickly got up to pour him a glass of water. As she handed it to him, she asked, “Did you hear that The George Group is getting into the streaming business?”

George shook his head. “Tell me more.”

“Rebecca Jones and I found a streaming company we wanted to buy,” Jessica explained. “The price was right, and a lot of people were interested, but since they needed cash upfront, we had a good chance. Then, out of nowhere, The George Group got involved, and so did Lance Smith…”

Her voice filled with resentment. “Honestly, I know our chances are slim now, but I’d rather see The George Group get it than Lance. He has no real interest in streaming; he’s just doing this to crush me.”

George took a sip of water. “You’re not out of the running yet. Nothing’s final until it’s final.”

Jessica offered a wry smile. “Well, here’s hoping.”

A small head peeked around the doorframe.
