Rebirth Revenge Is Everything (Ariana) novel Chapter 614

This was the first time Kiara had ever seen her aunt treat her with such cold indifference, and she was momentarily stunned.

Georgia continued in that same displeased, icy tone, "Do you even know her? And yet you immediately label her as a bad person. Kiara, I thought you were different from your sister. Jane is already beyond hope—I don’t want to see you turn out like her."

Her words might have sounded gentle, almost like a lecture.

But each syllable cut like a knife.

Kiara stood frozen in place, unable to believe that her usually kind and warm-hearted aunt would say such things to her.

Everyone knew what kind of person Jane was.

Kiara despised her from the bottom of her heart—especially for biting the hand that fed her.

But she had never imagined that her aunt would see her in the same light... She stood there, dazed, and by the time she snapped out of it, her eyes were already reddening. Forcing a strained smile, she tried to backtrack, "I... I didn’t mean it like that, Auntie..."

Georgia replied coolly, "What you meant is none of my concern. Just focus on yourself."

Kiara’s eyes burned with unshed tears, her chest tight with hurt.

But she swallowed them back. If she cried now, people might think she was being dramatic. So she tugged at the corners of her lips, mustering a weak smile. "I understand, Auntie... I spoke out of turn earlier. But that Irene—she really has ill intentions. You shouldn’t trust her. I... I saw it with my own eyes at the Stone family’s wedding last time. She was the bride’s maid of honor. She was trying to get close to Brother Lambert... I’m not making this up! I saw it myself!"

Afraid of being misunderstood again, Kiara quickly added those last two sentences.

She knew the smartest thing right now would be to stay silent.

After what her aunt had just said, she probably thought Kiara had changed. And honestly, she could understand—after what Jane had done, it was no wonder her aunt was wary.

But she had to warn her. She had no choice.

If that woman had succeeded, how heartbroken Ariana would have been.

Georgia's expression grew increasingly grim as she listened to the earlier remarks, but when she heard the last two sentences, she froze.

She blinked in shock before asking, "Getting close to your brother-in-law? What do you mean?"

Seeing that her aunt was finally taking this seriously, Kiara let out a quiet sigh of relief and recounted everything she had witnessed at the wedding, leaving out no detail.

By the time she finished, Georgia’s face had turned ashen.

She remained silent for a long moment before slowly lowering her head. So that’s why…

No wonder Lambert, a scion of the Stone family, had taken such a sudden interest in Ariana and married her so quickly. It all made sense now. At this realization, Georgia’s eyes reddened. Of course, she didn’t believe her own daughter, Irene, was the villain in this story. Instead, she convinced herself that Irene and Lambert had been deeply in love, only to be torn apart by an arranged marriage.

Having reviewed Irene’s records, Georgia already knew she had been married before.

After nearly five minutes of silence, Georgia finally composed herself. Suppressing the ache in her chest, she spoke measuredly, "Seeing isn't always believing. There might be some misunderstanding between that girl and Lambert. Don't jump to conclusions without knowing the full story. And don't go spreading this—we must protect both their reputations."

Kiara was dumbfounded.

She couldn't believe her aunt still doubted her after such clear evidence. Pressing her lips together, she replied blankly, "I haven't told anyone else. You're the only one who knows..."

Georgia gave a slight nod. "Good." After a pause, she continued, "So that day, the girl was apologizing to Ariana and said she's leaving the country because of this?"

At a complete loss, Kiara could only nod reflexively.

Georgia frowned. "I don't know who Ariana takes after—she's become utterly heartless. Forcing that girl abroad over baseless suspicions... This reflects poorly on my parenting." She sighed heavily. "I know you're close to Ariana. Try to advise her when you can. She shouldn't burn every bridge. Yes, she's leaning on the Stone family now, but how long can that last? Kiara, you might find my words harsh, but as her mother, I must think about her future."

Kiara was utterly bewildered.

She stared blankly at Georgia for a long moment before finally forcing a faint, tight-lipped smile. "I... I understand," she murmured.

Deep down, Kiara didn’t think Ariana had done anything wrong. When faced with a romantic rival, what was she supposed to do—roll out the red carpet and cheer? That would be spineless, not to mention downright idiotic. But considering how kind-hearted Auntie was, Kiara couldn’t exactly argue. She’d just have to bide her time and slowly reveal Irene’s true colors to her later.

Seeing that Kiara had taken her words to heart, Georgia’s expression softened slightly.

But the warmth in her gaze was noticeably absent.
