Sylvara's Rebirth: A New Dawn for Abel novel Chapter 174

Chapter 174 Keep Going On

Agares’s gaze flicked to the whip, then slowly dropped to his chest.

The burn mark she had left earlier was gone-healed completely, like it had never been there.

But her face was streaked with his blood, and her dark eyes burned hotter than ever as she stared him down.

“Ms. Feywin’s okay?” Leiya gasped, twisting the skin at Zolensky’s waist again. “Tell me I’m not dreaming. She took a lightning strike and came out even stronger!”

Moments ago, Sylvara had looked like she’d lost her mind.

Now her eyes were sharp, focused, and alive.

And she looked ready to keep fighting.

What kind of terrifying little powerhouse is she?

If they were even half as tough as her, they wouldn’t need all this damn training.

Zolensky winced in pain. “Why don’t you pinch yourself if you think you’re dreaming? Leave me out of it! I want to know what the hell’s going on too!”

Carlos was shaking, completely missing the point. “So, uh … if Ms. Feywin keeps going after Mr. Vaelor like that, and he finds out who her husband is, won’t that just make him train the guy even harder?”

The others turned to him, speechless.

What the hell kind of logic was that?

The real question should be whether Ms. Feywin can actually win against Mr Vaelor!

When is Mr. Vaelor finally going to go all in and take Ms. Feywin down?

“Your Highness!” Sylvara shouted. Her whip blazed through the air, streaking a line of fire straight toward Agares.

He raised his eyes, dark as midnight. He didn’t move. He didn’t even blink. He stepped forward, walking right into the storm of fire coming at him.

Sylvara’s brow tightened. He wasn’t going to dodge. Her grip hardened, and she sent the whip flying again, sharp and fast.

The crowd gasped, the sound rolling through the clearing like a wave.

Every jaw dropped.

To them, Sylvara’s strike was brutal, but Agares didn’t even try to avoid it. And now that she lashed her whip, he still stood there,

Was he trying to prove a point, taking her fire the same way she once took his lightning?

Could he even handle that kind of heat?

The deputy commanders of the Hunting Legion exchanged uneasy glances.

Sweat gathered on their brows as they watched, afraid for their leader.

At the last instant, Sylvara snapped her wrist. The whip caught her own burst of fire and slammed it into the ground. The impact exploded through the air, and the dry leaves beneath them burst into a hungry blaze.

Agares didn’t slow his pace. He walked straight past her, cold and rigid, his tone flat as he said, “Sorry to disappoint you, Ms. Feywin.”

Sylvara pulled back her whip. The fiery strand snapped into her hand so quickly that no one noticed the faint sparks of lightning sliding across its surface.

She turned to face him. “It’s fine. Next time you summon lightning, call me. One of these days, you’ll stop disappointing me. This contest isn’t over.”

She knew he’d figured her out. He knew she’d stepped into his lightning on purpose, hoping it would force her fire to evolve.

What he didn’t know was that it worked. His lightning had hit her flames, and something inside her had shifted.

Back in the world where zombies ruled the land, people with abilities like hers used to say that to mutate a fire type, you had to find someone stronger with a mutated version, have them summon lightning, and walk into it yourself. It was the only way your ability could change.

Now, her fire had mutated. She didn’t know how far it had gone-whether she could summon lightning herself or just cut through it–but she knew this much.

She could control it. She could switch between its normal and mutated forms whenever she wanted.

Agares turned his head slightly, eyes cutting toward her as if he could see straight through her. “Ms. Feywin, you’re gifted. And quite the performer. I’ll be waiting for your next surprise.”

He leapt ahead, calling to his men, “Stick to the plan. Keep moving west.”

Veyric, who had been knocked aside earlier, rushed over. He checked her over, found nothing wrong, then pressed a hand to her forehead and growled, “You reckless idiot. You weren’t burned, but Mr. Vaelor could’ve ripped you apart!”
