Sylvara's Rebirth: A New Dawn for Abel novel Chapter 176

Chapter 176 Orders

Finished

“Capture and eliminate him. Report to Command. You’ll receive a personal recommendation letter from Mr. Kenobia. That means there are now two letters to the Hunting Legion up for grabs. Good luck, and make it count.”

Aslan’s pulse thudded in his throat, his nerves stretched to breaking.

When Jonathan ended the broadcast, he swallowed hard and asked, “Sir, why won’t you believe the one who made His Highness summon lightning was from the Hunting Legion?”

Jonathan tilted his head slightly and pushed his sunglasses up his nose. A crooked smirk pulled at his mouth, and his polished air shifted into something bold and cutting. “Aslan, do you want me to turn this aircraft around so you can pick up the eyes and brain you dropped somewhere? If it was one of the Hunting Legion, His Highness would not need to summon lightning out here.”

Aslan froze, silent and thoroughly humiliated.

Sylvara kept moving west with her bargain-bin husband’s men.

Hearing Jonathan’s announcement over comms, she muttered a curse under her breath. She swore she’d drag that brother-in-law’s mask off one day and watch how smug he looked when his little “hunter” act blew up in his face.

The Hunting Legion’s deputy commanders had heard the message too. They exchanged knowing glances, each silently cursing Agares. If Jonathan had trained him, it explained exactly why their commander had turned out so damn twisted.

Veyric’s eyes lit up as he stared at Sylvara, his expression burning with greedy excitement. It was the look of a man seeing a walking recommendation letter waiting to be claimed.

Sylvara’s mouth twitched. The guy might not have much talent, but his nerve is something else. She tapped her spatial button, sending a clear warning without a word. Try it, and you’ll choke on the consequences.

The taste of grapes still lingered on Veyric’s tongue as he hesitated. His thoughts tangled for a moment before he made up his mind. He’d stay true to his dream-take down the Commander, earn the letter, and keep Sylvie alive for all the good food she shared.

Once decided, he ran harder.

The Hunting Legion’s deputy commanders were used to long/marches.

Their speed didn’t falter even in the thick forest.

Sylvara followed at a calm pace, occasionally patting Veyric’s shoulder to pour mental energy into him.

With her energy fueling him, his stamina surged, and soon he was running faster than the rest.

They followed the path Agares had taken. Along the way, they passed one fallen figure after another-senior students, rookies, and instructors alike.

Every single one of them lost their badge and insignia.

Sylvara counted quickly, her stomach tightening.

Finished

From noon until dusk, her bargain-bin husband hadn’t stopped once. He’d taken down at least three thousand people, claiming three thousand badges and insignias.

Her bargain-bin husband was really going all in. All this effort just to win and to finalize their divorce.

She wasn’t worried. No one could tell who would come out on top until it was over.

They had been running all afternoon, and the forest had fallen into darkness.

Then, a deep roar tore through the silence.

It echoed across the trees, low and guttural, followed by a flash of fire in the distance.

Sylvara’s mental energy spread out like a wave. The moment she caught her bargain-bin husband’s presence, she pointed toward the direction of the sound. “That way. I’ll go first. Stay close behind.”

A streak of fire shot through the woods, casting light over the trees as she sprinted toward the roar.

When she arrived, she saw Agares battling a towering brown bear that stood nearly thirty feet tall. He was using a saber-pure steel, no abilities at all.
