Sylvara's Rebirth: A New Dawn for Abel novel Chapter 30

**Chapter 30: Say You Care**

“You are a beacon of hope in our lives, illuminating our way forward, reminding us that as loyal citizens of the Troya Empire, we must pledge ourselves wholeheartedly to its cause, giving everything we have until our very last breath.”

“Well articulated! Agares is indeed our guiding star,” a senior voice chimed in, the sound of applause erupting like a wave.

“For the glory of the Troya Empire, we shall sacrifice it all, whatever the cost,” the crowd echoed, their fervor palpable.

Agares’s gaze fell upon the girl standing before him, her words resonating in the air. The phrase about dedicating oneself until the last breath was an echo from an ancient Earth memorial, penned over a millennium ago, before the apocalypse reshaped their world.

She certainly possessed a wealth of knowledge and an uncanny ability to manipulate the crowd, swaying their hearts with ease.

Yet, he remained silent.

In the depths of his dark eyes, Sylvara caught a glimpse of her own reflection. She leaned in closer, her voice softening, laced with honeyed persuasion. “Your Highness Agares, is it truly so difficult to admit that you care for your wife, who is currently here at the Fifth Academy?”

“I’m not asking you to reveal her identity,” she continued, her tone coaxing. “All I seek is to hear you say, from your own lips, that you have a wife and that you hold her dear. If you do, I have something from a Grade 7 Agriculture Department grower that I can give to you.”

If she could coax him into confessing his affection for his newlywed wife, the news would ripple through the Empire like wildfire. With such a declaration, the prospect of a divorce would become a distant dream for him.

Securing this powerful ally was just within her grasp.

Agares pondered the balance between the Empire’s needs and his personal desires.

After a moment of contemplation, he found himself uttering words that contradicted his own wishes. “Yes, my wife is a new student at the Fifth Military Academy. She registered today.”

“I trust that everyone will respect her privacy and allow her to enjoy a pleasant five years here among you.”

In her mind, Sylvara felt a triumphant surge. She had finally compelled him to acknowledge it. As she had anticipated, a Grade 7 Agriculture Department grower held more significance for him than his own spouse.

The seniors around them erupted into whistles and cheers, their excitement palpable.

Amidst the raucous celebration, Agares turned to Sylvara and inquired, “Where are the items he left with you?”

A whisper of victory danced in Sylvara’s thoughts. She had succeeded in extracting a confession from him. The fact that a Grade 7 grower from the Agriculture Department was more important to him than his own wife confirmed her suspicions.

To prevent the healer from the Agriculture Department from escaping to the neighboring Federation, Agares shifted his focus to Auren and Carlos, issuing a firm command. “Notify the space station. All vessels departing from Fifth Sector planets today are to be grounded. They may only launch after a thorough inspection.”

Carlos and Auren snapped to attention, saluting. “Yes, Mr. Vaclor.”

As Sylvara walked ahead, she could hear Agares’s deep voice issuing orders, and a swell of pride filled her heart.
