Sylvara's Rebirth: A New Dawn for Abel novel Chapter 4

**Chapter 4: The Infertile Ones Are Always in a Rush**

Relos felt a chill run down his spine as he absorbed his brother’s words. “No! The Mordrels have already sent the application to the Marriage Registration Center, and I haven’t invoked any royal privilege. I refuse to allow you to get divorced. Absolutely not!” His voice was firm, but inside, he wrestled with a storm of emotions.

Agares, on the other hand, wore a smirk that chilled Relos to the bone. His dark eyes, devoid of warmth, locked onto Relos with a robotic detachment. “We both know the breeding centers won’t produce children for anyone with a fertility value of zero. They’ll end up in conflict and misery, all because they lack offspring. What’s the point of dragging this out?”

Relos understood the harsh reality of their situation, yet the thought of his little brother facing a life of solitude gnawed at him. Even in a world where children were a luxury, he yearned for Agares to experience love, companionship, and the warmth of someone who genuinely cared for him.

“Agares,” he implored, his voice softening, “I don’t want you to spend your entire life alone. You deserve someone by your side.”

Agares’s expression hardened, his face resembling a mask of unyielding steel. With a sudden, deliberate motion, he dropped to one knee, placing his right hand over his heart. “I swear to devote my life to the Troya Empire, to protect it until my last breath,” he declared, his voice unwavering.

Relos took a step back, his heart heavy with sorrow. The weight of their family history pressed upon him like an anchor. Their parents had gone through the breeding center, producing more than a dozen children, yet only the two of them had survived. Now, here they stood, grappling with the consequences of their lineage.

Agares rose to his feet, his gaze unwavering as he stared intently at Relos before turning away, leaving the room with a swift and determined stride.

Meanwhile, Sylvara returned to her modest quarters, her mind racing with thoughts of the other Sylvara—her doppelgänger—who might have met a gruesome fate at the hands of beasts or been lost in the chaos of the apocalypse three millennia ago.

She had come to realize that her arrival here had somehow granted her the appearance of an 18 or 19-year-old, effectively adding an extra decade to her life. Her mental energy surged to its peak, perfectly harnessed and controlled. Her unique ability to heal plants allowed her to nurture seeds into full bloom and fruit, all without the need for soil.

In the Abel Star System, the average life expectancy hovered between 150 and 200 years. Whispers suggested that those who reached Level 9 in mental energy could live up to 300 years. Yet, Sylvara found herself questioning her own level of mental energy and whether her genetically unblemished body—crafted in the fires of the apocalypse—could truly live as long as the residents of the Abel Star System.

Crunch.

She plucked a vibrant red apple from the tree concealed behind her door and took a satisfying bite.

As the sweet juice burst in her mouth, she realized she had been worrying unnecessarily.

Might as well enjoy this moment and savor the apple. After all, in the Abel Star System, even the less-than-perfect fruits fetched a price of 1,000 stellar coins. The crisp, fragrant apple she was devouring was easily worth at least 5,000 stellar coins.

Such delicacies were beyond the reach of ordinary families; only the nobility and affluent merchants could afford them, and the highest quality fruits were truly priceless.

Just as she was about to finish her apple, a knock echoed through her room.

Moments later, Seraphine’s excited voice broke through the door, “Sylvara! Hurry up and get ready! We’re here to welcome His Highness Agares!”
