**Chapter 81: Sweet and Clingy**
Sylvara’s brow furrowed in confusion as she asked, “Wait, why do you need their names?”
The question hung in the air, thick with uncertainty.
She had pulled that idea out of thin air.
Where on earth was she supposed to procure a list of names?
Should she really betray Issac?
Agares’s voice cut through her thoughts like a knife, cold and unyielding. “Once I have their names, I will send people to educate their parents and them about Article 436 of the Penal Code.”
Educate them about Article 436?
What in the world was that?
Sylvara’s mind raced, her confusion deepening. “Honey, what does Article 436 say?”
Agares replied with an air of authority, “Article 436 of the Penal Code states that publicly insulting others by force or other means, or fabricating facts to slander them, is punishable by imprisonment, detention, control, or deprivation of freedom for up to five years.”
Sylvara was taken aback.
Seriously?
She had been trying to flirt with him, to draw him into a playful complaint, and here he was, talking about educating people on the intricacies of the Penal Code. This was a curveball she hadn’t anticipated.
“No, honey,” she said, pinching herself lightly and letting out a soft hiss, quickly shifting her tone to one that was wronged and whiny. “Honey, I didn’t call to complain. I’m not a child. I just want to know—if someone provokes me or challenges me, and I end up beating them up really badly, would you stand by me? Would you abandon me?”
Her gentle voice, laced with a cautious undertone, sent a chill through the meeting room, a stark contrast to the usual stern atmosphere.
There was something about her softness that was disarming.
She had a knack for being adorably cute.
Forget about crippling someone; they’d probably hand her a knife if she wanted to take revenge.
Agares felt a rush of instability in his mental energy, overwhelmed by the repeated endearment of “honey.” He casually adjusted the voice setting on his computer, trying to regain his composure.
Suppressing the restlessness in his heart, he responded with a stiff formality, “Ms. Feywin, for as long as we are married, no matter the circumstances, I am your primary guardian.”
“Being a primary guardian entails cleaning up the mess and taking legal responsibility for you.”
Cleaning up the mess?
Taking legal responsibility?
Those two phrases alone made Sylvara completely overlook Agares’s stiff demeanor and his slip of calling her “Ms. Feywin.”
She was so elated she nearly bounced off the bed.
“Okay!” Her voice brightened, radiating sweetness. “I understand, honey. I’ll behave. But you also have to be good and eat your apple gel, alright? Love you so much, bye!”
With that, she hung up, cutting off any chance Agares had to respond. She rolled around on the bed, her heart racing with excitement.
