Vanessa POV

After the bathhouse, we went to bed. I felt the ring on my finger when I woke up in the morning. It was a gold band with a gold flower, and a white diamond was in the middle of the flower. Alfred was still sleeping. I held my hand out and admired the ring. Last night felt like a dream, but I knew it was not. I had my first date, and it was amazing. Especially the hot spring and the picnic dinner. The hot springs felt so good for my body, especially after a long day trying on clothes and dealing with the crazy fashion designer. Yesterday was perfect.

I rolled onto my side and stared at him. I then started to run my finger along his brow and down his cheek. He grabbed my hand.

With that statement from the other side of the door, he let out a growl so filled with anger and hate that it shook the whole house and made me coward down and hide under the blankets. When he realized that I was afraid, he immediately started to apologize.

I did not speak as he got out of bed and got dressed. Then he walked out of the room and slammed the door. He was not gone long before Stacey walked into the room and got me some clothes.

“Luna, I have been ordered to take you to the hidden room.”

Luna, I do not know what is going on, and the alpha and the king have ordered me to get you in that room.”

I knew the alpha was her brother, and her father was the king. She would be severely punished if she did not do as she was told. I quickly dressed, and when we walked out of the room, I went to the right as always because that was the way to the front door. She grabbed my head and pulled me back. We walked a little further down the hall, and she pulled a string that I could have sworn was attached to a light. It was not what I thought it was. When she pulled it, it opened a door to some stairs. Then the lights came on.

I knew it was daytime, but this hallway had no windows. It was so narrow that you would think that the walls would cave in on you. The only way to go down the stairs was a single file. Stacey led the way, and I followed her. When we got down to the bottom, there was another secret door again. But you would not know where it was unless you have been there before. At the bottom of the stairs were boxes labeled wine, fruit, or caviar. It looked like a storage room. She walked to the left and pressed a brown button on a picture.

The door slid open. The room was decorated in red. There is a table in the middle of the room. On the left wall is a stove, refrigerator, and microwave. On the right wall is a bed and a door leading to the bathroom. On the other wall was a sink and a cupboard with dishes. You could live comfortably here for a while. How long would I be in this room? I hope not long. On the table was a deck of cards, notebooks, and other things to keep

“The door automatically shuts and locks behind us, so the only way I’m going to get out of here is when Alfred or my father comes for us.”

That was a relief. She walked over to the refrigerator.

“I’m hungry. How about you, Luna?”

Great, do you want eggs and sausage?”

She went to the refrigerator, got the sausage and eggs, and started cooking.

“I can help you.”

* No, ma’am, my brother would make me run laps until I passed out if he knew I allowed you to cook.”

She has a point. He would probably be mad, but I doubt he would make her run until she passed out. I was not going to chance that she would get into trouble.

We keep things fresh down here because you never knew when we would need this place.”

“We do it when everyone is asleep.”
