The Alpha Of The Shadow Pack And His Mute Luna (by Beatrice Putnam) novel Chapter 57

Chapter 57

Alfreds POV

I chased her around the room for a few minutes, then I caught her and gently threw her on the couch. I jumped up as if I was going to throw my whole body weight on her. But I caught myself on the arms of the sofa. Being a werewolf, we can control our limbs better than most. There was never any chance that she would get hurt. I made sure of that. I lay gently on top of her and started to make out with her. I had unbuttoned my shirt when Jaques knocked on the door. I did not want to quit touching her or kissing her.

Little one, we are going to stop so you can finish your fitting.

She pouted. She felt the same as I did. Again, Jaques knocked on the door.

11

Is everything alright there?

I yelled.

Yes.

I then helped her off the couch and kissed her passionately. I patted her on the bottom and whispered in her ear.

I will finish what we started later.

I knew I would see her for lunch. I went to my office, and my parents were there. They were enjoying some time alone. At the palace, their office was off limits to anybody unless you were called there. I quietly shut the door and then went to the academy. I walked through the cadet training. Mandy was there. I sat down and watched her. She did everything perfectly. She was going to a force to reckon with. Tonight she will shift for the first time. Then the real training begins for these cadets. Not only will they train in human form, but they will also train in wolf form,

Vanessa will train with me. I don’t want her training with everyone else. Mandy finally noticed me.

Hey, Alfred.

Hey Mandy.

You looked good out there.

Thank you.

She then ran off to join her friends. She was a maid in my house, but she was also trained to fight. Every member of my pack has a designated position, including even the maids. They are trained to fight. I had a strict policy about everyone learning how to fight. A lot of alphas require that. Not everyone, though. Some alphas only picked the strongest people to learn how to fight. But I did not care how old someone was; the

I then walked around the academy some more and checked everything. It all looked good. It was getting close to lunchtime. I walked back to the house and ran into Vanessa. She seemed to be in a hurry, and her cheeks were beet red.

I quickly turned around and walked out. I just embarrassed myself. I was beet red. I was in such a hurry that I ran straight into Alfred. I fell backwards and landed on my butt.

Little one, are you OK?

Yes.

Why were we in such a hurry? Did something happen?

The state she was in told me that she had seen something she did not want to see. As I was helping her up, my parents came out of the office. That told me everything I needed to know. She had walked in on them. I played it cool for her sake.

11

Is she OK?

Yes, why wouldn’t she be?

She walked in on us.

I chuckled.

Is that all that is wrong?

Yes.

Come on, baby, let’s go get some lunch.

I took her arm into mine and escorted her to the dining hall. I had this overwhelming need to have her sit in my lap. I pulled out her seat, and she sat down. I then sat down. I

pulled her closer to me.

Babe, I want you to sit in my lap.

OK.

She had a confused look on her face, but she sat in my lap, and we ate lunch. Then we

went for a walk. I then decided now was a good time to let our wolves out. We shifted at the same time. I sat back and let Leon enjoy his mate. He stood there, staring at her at

first. Then he yipped and ran around her, and she did the same. Then they went running

around for a while. Leon was so sweet to her. When they tried to cross a small stream, he

pranced around her and went to get a tree branch, laying it down for her to step on so she wouldn’t get her feet wet. After a while, it was time to go back to the house, shift, and get ready for the party that I had moved up to tonight.

We then went to the pool and just splashed around. It was just a way to cool our bodies and help with any pain she may be having. After a while, I got up and went to get towels

for both of us. We then took a warm shower. I had already mindlinked Mandy to start the

shower. I knew she needed to get ready. She even laid out the dress that she was going to wear. In the shower, I pulled her close to me. I just wanted to feel her naked body next to mine. I felt the familiar sparks run all over my body, and it was something that I was

getting addicted to.

We finished our shower. Then got out. She didn’t like the color of the dress that Mandy had chosen for her. So she went to the closet and got a black dress and some black boots. Everything matched, including her underwear.

You look so beautiful.

I chose a complete black suit. I had already planned on wearing it before she changed her

mind about her dress.

You look handsome yourself.

When we walked out to the garden area, where the event was going to take place, I had

ensured everything was set up. I had several doctors there to monitor the kids who were shifting. There were pools ready for them. The stage had been set up with chairs and mats. The mats were for my brothers. They still attended these events. Hoping to find

their true mates. The curse could still be broken. My brothers emerged from the shadows

and bowed, taking their places.

They then lay down on the mats. The music started, and all eighteenyearolds walked out in a line. The second one in line was Mandy. She looked beautiful in her red dress. I was

protective that everyone was going to see her naked. She is like a daughter to me. I was

protective of her. I need to explain my relationship with her to Vanessa. I don’t want her to think anything is going on. She seemed to be the type who would get upset. As the clock struck midnight, they started to shift one by one. After they shifted, they were ushered into the pools filled with ice. Then, when they shifted back to human form, they were given some herbal tea and sent to get dressed.
