The Alpha Of The Shadow Pack And His Mute Luna (by Beatrice Putnam) novel Chapter 61

Chapter 61

Vanessa POV

After hearing yelling in the hallway, I heard the window break. I tried to get out of bed,

but I still could not move very well. I could hear fighting happening in the hallway, and then there was this huge man in the room. He broke the window. But how? The window is supposed to be unbreakable? I kick him in the shin and try to run, but he grabs me from

behind, and then he puts a washcloth over my mouth. It had chloroform on it. Within

seconds, I was knocked out. When I woke up again, I was in a dungeon. I was chained to a wall with heavy chains. They were so heavy that I could not move. The cell looked like it

was in an abandoned castle. The walls were made of stone.

Did they think that because I have my wolf now, I am as strong as Hercules or something? I still do not have much physical strength. The cell doors were old iron bars. I kept looking around my surroundings, trying to see if there was any way I could escape. Then I heard footsteps down the hall. Then the man who was chasing me earlier in the woods walked into my cell. He had a vicious smile on his face. I knew he was up to no good.

11

What the hell do you want?

I want you to show me your powers.

What are you talking about?

I had no idea what he was talking about. Powers. I don’t have any powers that I’m aware of. He then slapped me so hard that my ears started ringing.

Again, show me your powers.

1

I DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT.

Yes bitch, you do.

He then tried to use magic on me, but from out of nowhere, there was this white light coming from behind me. Then, as soon as it appeared, it was gone. The man was standing in front of me with a shocked expression on his face. Then everything went black. I know I’m dreaming because I’m running through a field with Sasha.

Vanessa, don’t be afraid.

Sasha.”

No, it’s me, the moon goddess, let me help you.

82

I then woke up and was still in the cell, but it was like I had different eyes. It was like I could see everything through walls and into people’s souls.

11

LEAVE ME ALONE.

He started to come toward me, and I could see that his soul was as black as could be. I knew he was a witch. I did not need him to tell me that. I had no idea why the moon goddess had chosen me. But I wanted it to stop. He kept coming towards me, and then the chains popped off by themselves. I started to float towards him. I knew it was the moon goddess’s powers. She could do anything. Then I lifted my hands, and a ball of white light came out of them. Then everything went black.

When I woke up again, I was on the floor of the cell. The man was on the floor as well. I did not know if he was dead or alive. But I wasn’t going to try to find out. As I slowly got up and was walking past him, he grabbed my ankle. I could see with my own eyes now. I could no longer see with the moon goddess’s eyes. But I was fine either way. I then fell to the floor, and that is when I heard Alfred. He was fighting, and gunshots were ringing out. Then wolves burst into the cell.

I immediately recognized Leon Alfred’s wolf. He ran straight up to me and nuzzled me. I nodded my head, yes, that I was OK, I was speechless. I did not know how to react to everything that was happening. I climbed onto his back and he ran out of the cell and straight into the woods. I was physically weak and did not have the strength to move. He let me off his back and fell into Chris’s arms. I then saw Alfred run back into the castle.

Chris carried me to a van and shut the door. It sounded like he was locking it from the outside. I did not care. I was safe. I lay on the floor of the van and waited for them to return. I must have fallen asleep again. Because again, I was running alongside Sasha, and we stopped in front of the moon goddess.

Vanessa, I know you are confused and are struggling, but I will help you learn how to use

your powers.

Why have you chosen me?

You have always been marked for great things.

Then she was gone, and I woke up to the van doors opening. Alfred climbed in and

wrapped his arms around me. He was completely naked, but I know he didn’t care. I didn’t

care either. I was happy to be safe in his arms. The sun was starting to come up again. We have been going through this for over twentyfour hours. I have been in and out of

consciousness. I’m getting tired of being asleep all the time. Chris climbed into the

driver’s seat of the van, and he was still naked. He was also covered in blood. It was his

blood, but it was someone’s blood. I did not ask who. 1

We drove back to the house. We were greeted by several warriors, all happy to see us

return safely. The ones that had been injured were taken to the hospital. Then, out of the

last van, was the man who had kidnapped me.

What’s he doing here?

I’m going to deal with him.

Let’s get you inside and washed up

I could not agree more. We went to our room and took showers. We got in and got washed up. The window had been replaced, and there were bars on it this time. So if the glass got broken again, they would have a hell of a fight to get in here. They would need special tools. There was no way that they would make a lot of noise. I put on some pajamas and got comfortable. Alfred had gotten out of the shower before me and had gotten dressed and left the room. I sat down on the couch that was in our room. A few minutes later, Alfred came back with a couple of sandwiches. I was grateful for whatever.

He also had some milk. He handed me a sandwich and a cup of milk. He then gave me my vitamins. He was going to make sure I got better. We ate our food and relaxed. Then I debated with myself about whether to tell him about everything that had happened. I was unsure if I wanted to or not. I had already been enough of a burden on him that he deserved better than me for a mate. Now he had to worry about everyone trying to kidnap

me and use me against him. I would never hurt him.

Alfred, I need to talk to you.
