The Alpha's Unwanted Omega Mate novel Chapter 14

Chapter 14

Chapter 14

Dahlia

I never thought she’d have the guts to do it. As I sit next to my chosen mate and love, Tristian, it’s all for her. Dad already left to go about his duties and while I’d love to do the same, Tristian won’t budge. He seems determined to see this through even three days later and I have no idea why.

Daisy… poor useless and unattractive Daisy. She’s been with me since I can remember and has always been a background character in my story. Plain and insignificant Daisy, always second to me, the perfect Dahlia.

When I got along with her, she lived only for me. She always made sure to make me happy, but only because I was the only one to give her the time of day. I didn’t mind her back then because I saw her as my other half.

Back then, Daisy was different. She never let our parents get to her and was stronger. She changed though and I wanted nothing to do with her. I was the special one finding my wolf at age eight while she only got weaker and shyer.

I’m better than her in every way and I make sure everyone knows it too. That’s why I became Tristian’s girlfriend and later on his chosen mate. We will rule over this pack well and make Moonlight pack the best it ever has been!

And yet here we are, Alpha and Luna, sitting around and wanting for Omega trash to wake up. We can’t go into the room as Jim is running tests, but that’s fine by me. I don’t want to see my annoying twin half-dead and attached to machines.

I also don’t want to be around the other Omega trash: Samuel. My cheek still stings from his hard slap and I shoot him a glare. How dare an abandoned and unwanted orphan raise a hand to his Luna!

He has grown up though. Back then, he was just a skinny and awkward boy sniffing after Daisy, but now? He looks nothing like an Omega. His arms ripple with muscles from all the work he does for the pack and his face is handsome too even with all the freckles.

Samuel meets my glare and narrows his green eyes. They remind me of emeralds. “Take a picture.” He says gruffly and looks back over to the room. “It’s rude to stare, Luna.” He says ‘Luna’ in a dry, disgusted tone.

I grit my teeth but Tristian speaks before I can. “I know you’re worried for your friend, but show some respect, Omega. This won’t be tolerated much longer.” I feel touched that my love speaks up for me.

Samuel snorts. “Respect is earned and not given,” he says dryly making me tense. “Neither of you have earned it as far as I’m considered.” He leans back in his chair and stares back at the door.

How can he be so unafraid? Where did this brave act come from? Before either of us can retort, Jim walks out of the room. He looks drained.

“How is she?” Samuel asks immediately and stands up. Tristian does the same and clenches his fists. I take one of them, but I can feel he’s so tense. Jealousy makes my mouth taste bitter but I hold it in.

“She’s doing better now. She should wake up soon enough, but please stay patient. She’ll probably be a mess when she does.” Jim warns and steps back.

Samuel hurries over to Daisy’s side while Tristian and I stand by the door. Tristian looks so guilty for some reason and I scowl. Stop focusing on her damn it!

I take his hand and smile. “Why don’t we go for a run in the woods? We can’t stay cooped up in here forever. I’m sure Jim will tell you when she wakes up.” I say and tilt my head. “We can discuss her punishment too…”

“Punishment?” Samuel cuts me off making my blood boil. The nerve of this guy! “You all drove her to this point. Look at yourselves in the mirror. Get a clue!” His green eyes are dark and angry. “I told you all long ago to fuck off so why don’t you…”

“Enough.” An unexpected voice startles us. When I look over to the bed, I see Daisy is awake. Samuel snaps his head over to

her and takes her hand his eyes softening and filling with relief.

“Daisy! Are you alright? I’ll go and get Jim!” Samuel stands up and turns to go but Daisy grabs his hand. He looks back at her in confusion and she shakes her head.
