Chapter 17
Chapter 17
Tristian
I’m beyond pissed right now. How dare this little wolf disobey me and try to leave. I stop in front of her but she looks me in the eye her golden eyes glowing with power. She wouldn’t even bow down to an Alpha’s command. Just what sort of wolf is she? She’s the opposite of weak little Daisy.
I can feel Silas pushing me aside for control but I keep him in check. While Naomi will be punished for this, right now Daisy needs to recover. I need her to take back her denouncement of the pack so I can keep her safe.
She holds her head high and speaks while making complete eye contact. “I, Naomi, former member of Moonlight and wolf of Daisy reject you Silas, Alpha of Moonlight pack and wolf of Tristian, as my mate.” Wait… what?!
To say I’m startled is an understatement. Wolves don’t reject each other like their human halves! I fall to my knees and gasp out loud as I clench my chest.
I’ve never felt something this agonizing before. Not even rejecting Daisy and her acceptance was this bad. I feel all eyes on me probably shocked at the news that she was my mate all along. I dread what Dahlia will say about this too.
In my agony, I let Silas take over. “Y-you…” He sounds in pain too, but there is more disbelief in his voice than anything. “H- how… could you…?”
Naomi looks down at me and scoffs. “You failed in every way. Why should I keep our bond when I’m better off finding my second chance? Nothing you’ve done has shown me you’re worthy.” She shows no sign of regret at all. She doesn’t even seem to be in pain either.
Then she does something even more shocking: she starts to strip down. “W-what are you…?!” I fight Silas for control before I stiffen. Her body is so skinny that I can count every one of her rips with ease. I see scars all over her back and legs and can only imagine how badly those hurt. I knew she was being bullied and beaten by the pack but to this extent?
Naomi rolls up the clothes not having any sense of shame and I realize this is a wolf thing. Silas is the same way. I hear her bones crack and watch in awe as she shifts into a huge white she-wolf. She’s no Omega, that much is certain now.
I hear little ones cheering her on and follow her gaze over to the Omegas. They adore her and must be her only friends. She then lets out a loud and long howl and it shakes me to my core.
What have I done? I sense the power within her and know she would have made an amazing Luna. How did I not see it before? She then picks up the clothes and takes off.
“NAOMI!!!” Silas roars after her but she’s already out of sight. He growls and snaps at everyone. “Don’t let her leave! After her!” At his command many of the pack shifts and race after her. He tries to shift too but can’t find the strength startling both of us.
I know many wolves are lost after a rejection. I assumed Daisy lost hers after I rejected her since Silas couldn’t sense her wolf anymore. I still have Silas but what if I can never shift again? Naomi has to take back the rejection!
“T-Tristian?” Dahlia whimpers which makes me look over to her. Confusion and pain twist her lovely features. “S-she was your mate all along? How?” She looks completely betrayed and I grit my teeth.
“I found out on your birthday and rejected her,” I mutter. “Then I went straight to you to give you my mark. Nothing else happened.” Oddly enough Dahlia doesn’t seem to believe me. Why? I never once cheated on her as my chosen mate!
“You.” I ignore Dahlia for now to focus on Samuel. He’s still in shock without just standing there. He snaps his head to look at me and narrows his eyes. “You claimed that you Omegas only get scraps after our meals. Is this true? Tell me the truth.”
Samuel tenses at my command and I feel guilty for using my authority without meaning to. He answers as he has no choice. “It is the truth. I never once lied to you about how we’ve been treated.” The other Omegas look at each other and nod as
well.

Chapter 17
“Why is Daisy so skinny then? Everyone else looks fine.” Samuel scowls at my question. His expression is asking ‘Why do you care?’ but he answers anyway.
“She gave her share to the rest of us. If she did eat, the beatings would make her throw up. Giving her part of my share didn’t work either.” Samuel says and frowns. “She cared too much about us and never took care of herself, but why does any of this matter? We told you and your Beta about our treatment and nothing got done about it. If anything it got worse.”
His words are like a slap in the face. Everything he said is the truth. I don’t want to believe it, but it’s like a wake-up call. Father always treated all pack members with respect and care and I vowed to do the same. When did it all start falling apart?
“That’s a lie!” Phil snaps cutting in. “None of you ever told me what was going on so don’t pin any blame on me or my family!” He growls lowly and glares at Samuel.
