Daisy

1 stare in stunned silence as I watch Samuel. He’s changed so much since I last saw him too. Instead of being a skinny and awkward teenager with carrot hair and many freckles, he’s now strong. He’s grown into his features well and I can even call him handsome.

“Daisy… there you are…” Samuel says with a laugh and smile. He looks so relieved too but all the tension melts away from him and he looks exhausted.

*… Help him get cleaned up,” I order. “He’s an old friend of mine so treat him like a guest,” I add. I look over to Peter and note that he’s staring wide-eyed at Samuel. “Peter?” Then I see my mate’s face. “Aiden…?”

Aiden looks so pale like he’s seen a ghost. Why is he staring at Samuel like this? I put a hand on his arm and he jumps. “Y- yeah… follow what Daisy says.” He mutters and turns away. I hesitate as he walks away and look back to the others some of the Omegas leading Samuel away.

Peter shakes his head and looks at me. “Go after Aiden, Luna. He’ll… need someone to talk to right now.” He looks rather haunted right now but he turns away and goes about normal pack business.

1 swallow hard and hurry after Aiden. He is stripping down by the time I catch up. “Aiden!” I call after him but he’s already shifting into his wolf form. As he takes off into the woods, I strip down as well and make chase as I shift as well.

My mind is racing as I chase after my mate. What’s going on in his head right now? What set him off? So many questions but I don’t know if he’ll answer any of them.

‘Aiden!’ I call after him again and this time, I see him start to slow down. Soon I’m running next to him. Please talk to me! You know I’m always here for you. I add. Then he lets out the saddest noise that makes my heart break.

Aiden whines softly and slows to a trot then comes to a stop. He sits down and whimpers faintly his ears low and his head down. I sit next to him and gently nudge his side with my nose

Why is he so sad? I’ve never seen him like this before. I hesitate for a while and the two of us stay silent minus some sad whines coming from Aiden. After what seems like hours to me, he finally speaks.

…That rogue… your friend… he looks so much like Rosie. It was like seeing her ghost just… being there. Aiden keeps his head low. His hair is different but his face… that fire in his eyes… it’s all Rosie. But that’s impossible…

Rosie. Aiden’s first mate that he lost. No wonder he’s so depressed. I nuzzle him gently while he whines and sighs. I’m so sorry, my love… I had no idea.’ I don’t know what to say. How can I help him?

‘She had a little brother but he was murdered along with her father by rouges. We never found his body but… how can a newborn pup survive on his own like that?’ Aiden lies on the ground and closes his eyes tightly. ‘It makes no sense… he came from your pack so he must have a family there.

This information makes me pause. ‘He doesn’t have a family. He was found as a pup abandoned in the woods… an orphan. They never found anyone nor did a rouge mother come looking for her missing pup so he was taken in my old pack. I say and Aiden shoots his head up to stare at me. Wait… it can’t be… right? From the glimmer in his eyes, he seems to be thinking the same thing.

Aiden stands up and starts to run again. I growl in frustration as I just caught my breath but I chase after him yet again. Looks like I’m getting a nice workout tonight!

We make it back to the pack and after getting our clothes on, Aiden follows Samuel’s scent. He has gotten cleaned by now and jumps when Aiden swings open the door. His weary look shifts into a happy one when he sees me. “Daisy”

I wave to him but Aiden rushes forward and grabs his arm. Samuel lets out a startled growl and tries to take it away but Aiden lifts his sleeve and immediately stiffens. “..”

“It hey! Let go!” Samuel yanks his arm away and shoves him back glaring with a low and defensive growl. “What’s the big ide the then frowns as Aiden just stares at him once more. “W-what the…? What’s your deal, man?”

I frown as well and try to think back to what Aiden might have seen. I then blink. “Your birthmark…” Samuel looks at me as I speak. “He was looking for your birthmark to confirm something… am I right, love?” I place a hand on Aiden’s shoulder.

Alden Bunches at my touch but puts his hand over mine. “You… you’re Rosie’s little brother…” he whispers in awe. “I met you soon after your birth and… you had that mark…” Samuel looks puzzled at his words. “We all thought you were dead…”

Samuel shakes his head. “What are you talking about? Who’s Rosie?” He then tenses when Aiden suddenly pulls him into a big hug Samuel shoots me a confused look. “Um… what is this exactly?”

I swallow hard and smile. “You belonged in this pack… this was supposed to be your home.” I look at Aiden who is shaking now Rosie was his first mate but… she’s not here anymore. You look a lot like her.”
