Chapter 33
Chapter 33
Samuel
As I stare down Daisy’s pup, I know who the father is. He’s like a tiny copy of him too which makes my blood go cold. “Daisy… what did that bastard do to you…? Is that why…?” Daisy looks away and I let out another low growl.
It all makes sense now. She made an attempt on her life after he forced himself on her. I still remember seeing her pale face that day and seeing all that blood. It haunts me everywhere I go and it’s why I wanted to find her. If I know she’s alive and well then that’s enough for me… or so I wanted to believe.
“Hi there, Mister Rogue!” I snap my head down to look down at the pup. Those hazel eyes only belong to one man. That hair and those ears and tail too. “I’m Skylar! This is my friend, Ebony! Nice to meet you!” They sparkle so bright but all I can see is Tristian Parker.
I clench my fists and growl low making the pups flinch back and look afraid. “Samuel!” This time I flinch when I hear Daisy’s harsh tone. She rarely calls me by my full name unless she’s off. She moves and stands between me and the pups. Those purple eyes of hers are dark yet weary making me feel guilty. Yet my rage only continues to grow and I grit my teeth.
I know better than this. The pup is innocent in all this. He isn’t Tristian but Skylar instead and yet I can’t stop my anger. So I only turn away and hurry out of the house before I do something I regret. Daisy calls after me but I don’t look back.
“Coward…” I mutter under my breath and growl to myself. The feeling of being in a pack makes me feel overwhelmed and suffocated so I take off into the woods to clear my head.
I don’t want to see Skylar as my former Alpha but I can’t help it. How does Daisy handle it after everything he did to her? It makes my blood boil just to think of him but to have a constant reminder of him?
I slide to a halt at a lake and pant heavily. I run a hand through my hair and tug hard. “Get ahold of yourself, Samuel,” I mutter and sigh. “Nothing goes your way but at least she’s ok… and happy.”
My crush was always meant to end in nothing but I always hoped in a way that there was a chance I could be with her. Seeing her happy with a new pack and a mate who seemed completely devoted to me makes me happy but also bitter. Why not me? Why is the moon goddess so cruel?
‘It’s not your fault. I like Daisy and Naomi too but they aren’t our mates.’ Victor tells me. ‘Be patient. Everything will go as it should. His words do little to make me feel better.
“Dahlia and Sunny were our mates before so I think I get to feel wronged,” I say out loud and Victor sighs. I know he agrees with that fact at least
“There you are. Seems like you ran off to blow some steam eh?” The sudden voice makes me jump and Victor snarls. I spin around and meet a pair of amused amber eyes. “That’s understandable but you made my Luna rather upset.”
As he walks toward me, I take a step back. I take in his figure a strong wolf with the air of a Beta. His black hair compliments his amber eyes well and frames his striking features even more. “I apologize.” I look away and clench my fists more.
He stops in front of me… I believe they called him Beta Peter?… and just chuckles. I look at him annoyed by his laughter. “You have every reason to be I’m sure. Sky’s looks made Daisy act as you did for a while after his birth but in the end, her love for her pup won out. Everyone adores the little one too.”
I blink and frown. Daisy did what? Seeing my expression makes Peter shake his head. “Don’t act too surprised. She told Aiden about what happened in her old pack and what her former mate did to her.” His eyes harden. “It appears that you did the right thing leaving that pack. They’re doomed with that leadership.”
I can’t help but let out a snort of laughter. He’s right about that for sure. “They treated me poorly just because I was an orphan found alone in their territory. An abandoned rogue who should know his place. Seeing as they treated Daisy worse than me… I couldn’t agree more.”

Chapter 33
Peter lets out a growl and I look at him puzzled. “You’re no abandoned orphan. You were stolen from us after your father was murdered.” He looks away. “Don’t look back on that anymore. You belong in this pack. We welcome you with open arms so… don’t see yourself that way anymore.”
I hesitate at his words and look to the side. How am I expected to just accept this as fact? I don’t know anyone here other than Daisy. “What do you want from me?” I ask quietly and then tense when Peter looks back at me. I didn’t mean to ask that out loud.
