Daisy

“She took Sky away!” Ebony’s words cut through me. Somebody kidnapped my pup. They attacked one of my pack members and took Skylar away from me. A wave of emotions run through me.

First, I’m in shock and denial. How could it be true? Sky is safe away from the party with a strong warrior and former rouge in Zoey. No way anyone could get through her! Plus many others would be around too! If anything happened, someone would have stopped it!

Then, I feel like crying. What if this wolf plans on harming Sky? Then what can I do? Thinking of someone torturing and hurting my son makes my heart ache and my body so cold. Why am I being punished? Sky is innocent so why?!

And finally, I land on rage. I would do anything for my pup even if it means killing his captor. My blood boils and I clench my fists. Whoever took my son is going to pay for this. No one will be able to stop me either! I will get my son back!

Aiden snarls next to me and I hear the little pup cry even harder. This snaps me out of my rage as I realize Ebony is all alone and scared. She must have seen her mother get attacked. Before I can think, I move forward and pull her into a warm hug. I feel her flinch but she starts to sob into my chest. With that, my heart melts.

“Shh… it’s ok… it’s not your fault.” I say and rub her back. “We’ll get him back… don’t worry. I’ll make sure of it.” I look over to Aiden who nods to me. He starts to order the pack around while I stand up holding Ebony gently.

“Follow Ebony’s scent and find clues! I’ll go and get Zoey. Peter…” Aiden pauses and looks around. He frowns a bit and I hear him call for our Beta through the pack link. From his expression, I can tell he didn’t respond. “Anyway! Move out! We must find my son!”

As the pack moves out, Aiden turns to me. “I’ll be right back. Olivia, stay with Daisy and Ebony. Make sure the little girl isn’t hurt.” With that, Aiden takes off.

The commotion makes wolves from other packs follow suit. Olivia walks over to us and smiles. “Hey there, little one. You have some nasty cuts on your hands and face. May I help you out?” She asks gently.

Ebony peeks out and sniffles. “O-ok…” she mumbles and I stay by her side while Olivia examines her and then patches her up. “O-ow…” she winces but doesn’t make too much of a fuss. Sky always does no matter what…

I clench my fists again but take a deep breath. Not yet. “So Aiden has a son then huh?” Or maybe I should punch someone after all. I snap my head to see Tristian standing too close for comfort. My skin crawls and I step away from him. “Was it from his first mate? Stuck raising a pup that isn’t your own? That must suck always living in another’s shadow.”

I growl lowly. Does he think that’s charming? What a joke. “He’s my son as well. I gave birth to him so no.” Surprise flashes in his eyes. “And for the record even if he was I would gladly love and raise a pup like that as well. Because anything from Aiden is always wonderful. Unlike you.”

Tristian glares at me. “You know nothing about me. You never gave me the chance in the first place!” His hazel eyes flash with rage. I never gave him a chance? Is he for real right now? He’s either really dense or really stupid.

“And whose fault is that? You always told me to know my place back then and you rejected me without a second thought.” I point out. “You weren’t worth it then and still aren’t worth it now. So save your breath and leave me alone.”

Regret comes to his face. “Daisy, please… I was young and stupid back then. Why can’t you just forgive me and give me a chance?” As he reaches for my arm, my skin crawls and I flinch away. His eyes darken. “Are you that disgusted by me?”

I laugh a bit and shake my head. “You’re trash so yes I guess you can say that. I want nothing to do with you. Right now, I just want my pup back in my arms safe and sound. Go back to your chosen mate. You made your bed so go and lay in it.”

Tristian snarls under his breath and glares. “One day you’ll be crawling back to me. We were meant to be, Daisy. One mistake doesn’t change that.” With that, he storms off like a spoiled child. Even Sky never acted that way and Aiden and I spoil him

rotten as he deserves.

I shake my head. No more comparing my perfect pup with that trashy asshole. I look back to Ebony and focus on keeping her calm. Poor thing is still crying from the whole ordeal! I hope Zoey is already for her sake.

Some time passes and I sense Aiden coming back. For a moment, I’m filled with joy. He must have Sky with him! Then it’s replaced with horror when I see Zoey on his back.

She’s all bloody and looks in bad shape. Her eyes are closed and for a moment, I fear she isn’t breathing before I see her flank moving up and down quickly.

Olivia jolts up and gasps before rushing over to them. “Mama!” Ebony gasps and tries to go to her but I stop her. “No! Let me go! Mama!” She starts to cry again. My heart aches for her and I pick her up to hug her close.
