After meeting Skylar for the first time, an array of emotions go through me. I’m a father myself so seeing a pup in horrible shape and heavily abused pisses me off. I never understand how someone can be so abusive to innocent pups like this.

However, something else catches my eye about him. The way he acts around his friend Ebony reminds me of my son with his best friend but he also feels the same as well. I sense a powerful wolf behind him already which isn’t surprising with who his mother is. It’s the same with my mate, Arina.

When Skylar was brought in, I took Ebony aside to ask some questions. She wasn’t allowed in the room yet so it was the perfect time. “Hey, kiddo. I know you’re all over the place right now.” Her dark eyes looked wild and worried. “I just had a question about what you said. You knew he was close by in the woods right? How exactly?”

Ebony sniffled and rubbed her eyes. “I kept having dreams about Sky. We were older and always met by the lake back home. This time it wasn’t Sky I met though… it was Jaden. He told me Sky was close by and to meet him halfway so I did.” She looked up at me. “H–he’s going to be ok right?”

Everything she said made me certain. Just like my son, Skylar has the same qualities because he’s the son of a true Luna. Not much is recorded in history since such wolves are very rare. It isn’t even genetic as far as I’m aware. I will need to explain this to his parents when they get here.

“Thank you for telling me, Ebony. He will need you to get completely better so when you are allowed to stay by his side, alright?” I ruffled her hair. “I need to go and wait by the border for Aiden and Daisy. I’m sure they’ll be here before dusk.” With that, I left and headed out to the border.

I had been right in my calculations and led them inside. Later on that night, I made my way to the room and heard a commotion. As I listened in on Skylar freaking out, I spotted Ebony rushing upstairs. Her eyes were panicked again when she heard Skylar. Once I heard them interact, I was positive. Ebony was indeed his mate and Skylar subconsciously knew it.

When Aiden and Daisy walked out, I cleared my throat. “Greetings. I’m sure you wish to stay by Skylar’s side but right now he needs to heal and feel better. For now… I wish to speak with the two of you so follow me.”

Now as I lead them to my office, I sense their nervousness. I think of myself as more approachable than my father had been but I know being the Alpha King makes me intimidating. I hope it doesn’t make them too unsettled.

“Please shut the door behind us,” I say as I walk over to my desk. “Take a seat. I wish to speak to you more about Skylar and what I’ve noticed about him. You may have questions soon enough so I’ll give you my knowledge now.”

The pair exchange tense looks before sitting in the chair in front of my desk. “What is this all about, Xander?” Aiden asks. He’s one of the few wolves who has permission to call me by name. “Is this something to be worried about?”

I shake my head. “Not at all,” I assure them and lean back in my chair. “Based on what I’ve observed and heard, I figured it would be better to explain why Skylar is and will be the way he is.”

Daisy frowns. “What do you mean?” She asks and takes Aiden’s hand. I see the stress and worry on her face. I can tell I haven’t assured her at all.

“As I’ve said before, your wolf is what is called a ‘true Luna‘. That is why you have that crescent moon mark on his shoulder.” I start. “Your wolf… Naomi ! believe is stronger than most wolves. She’s meant to be a Luna which is why both of your mates have been Alphas.”

Daisy grimaces and mutters ‘Aiden is my only mate‘ under her breath which makes me nod in understanding. Tristian Parker truly is an idiot for what he’s done and nothing can fix it either.

“This isn’t necessarily genetic so your daughter isn’t necessarily going to be one as well. However, it can pass on to your sons.” I continue. “It doesn’t show in the same way of course. His wolf may have been active from the moment he was born and as such is much stronger than the average Alpha pup.”

Daisy frowns. “Ok… and you think Skylar is the same way? Should I be looking for this quality in Davin? Is it something to be concerned about?” Her
