The Alpha's Unwanted Omega Mate novel Chapter 95

The morning that the war began was peaceful enough. Samuel stayed behind to help with general camp guarding and I stayed back to care for Rose and to help Olivia and Leah prepare for the inevitable battle wounds that were to come. Everyone was certain this would end today. No one expected to be

attacked here instead of the border.

As I walk back to the home where all the young children are staying, a certain scent reaches my nose and makes me freeze. I knew that scent anyway. It follows me everywhere especially in my nightmares. It’s the scent of the mate I rejectedthe scent of the rogue leader. It’s then that I realize what’s going onthat we are surrounded.

I try to stay calm as I pick up the pace. I can’t let them know that I know they were there. They would immediately attack otherwise. We’re surrounded. 1 use my mental link to the Crimson Moon members who stayed behind. The rogues are going to attack us here. Be prepared and protect the pups.

Tension fills the air. Stay calm and get here, Hazel.Samuel tells me the worry in his tone is obvious. I swallow hard and keep walking, I sense a stirring within the pack which makes my heart sink. I don’t make it to the house as Trent howls signaling his wolves to move in.

My heart pounds as I drop the food and book it to the house. The chaos that comes after overwhelms my senses. I need to get to my mate and our pup! If anyone hurt little Rosalinarage runs through me. Even if I don’t share a drop of blood with her, she’s still mine!

One problem surfaces as I realize two wolves are after me. Panicked, I keep running knowing Trent is still after me. Why can’t he just leave me be?! Just

when their hot breath reaches my heels, a russetcolored blur rushes past me and tackles them to the ground.

I spin around and watch as Samuel scares the two away before turning to face me too. Get on! Zoey and Queen Anna are protecting the pups!I nod and

quickly climb onto his back knowing it was faster travel. As a healer, I have no battle training so I’m useless right now. Even a hunter would be better prepared than me! With Samuel’s fur intertwined into my fingers, nothing scares me now.

Then cold laughter sent a chill down my spine. I spoke too soon. You’re still being protected by this mutt, huh?Trent steps out and smirks. He hasn’t changed one bit. If anything, he looks stronger now than he did before. Run as fast as you canbut I’ll always get what I want. Two wolves step out behind him, twice the size of the two who chased me before and bigger than Samuel is now.

Fear makes me tremble. It was all a test. Samuel snarls at the three. Hold on tight! He then takes off. Trent laughs behind us and they chase us into the woods. I hug Samuel and pray to the Moon Goddess for our safety. She doesn’t answer my prayers this time.

One of the wolves pounces on Samuel sending me flying off of I him. I tumble to the ground and wince when I try to scramble to my feet. The only thing! hurt in the fall is my ankle. When I look up, I see Samuel pinned to the ground by the two wolves, and clench my fists.

Before I can try and shift or go to his side, I’m grabbed from behind and my skin starts to crawl. There you are, little Hazel.” Trent purrs into my ear making my blood go cold. I never wanted to be in his arms ever again. Just relax…he says as I struggle making him hold me closer and tighter. If you don’t complyhe snaps his fingers.

Samuel lets out a loud yelp and I snap my attention to him. One pins him down and the other bites into his leg making me see red. LET HIM GO!!!I scream and try to get to him but Trent’s grip only gets stronger. Stop!!! Stop hurting my mate!

Trent laughs and breathes into my ear. Baby girl, you’re mine and you know it. Just because he’s marked you doesn’t mean he’s yours. Not at alland until you agree to come back to mehe snaps his fingers and Samuel yelps again at another bite. I’m going to make sure he suffers a slow and painful

death.

No! My body trembles as I struggle weakly against Trent. I don’t want to go with him but I also don’t want Samuel to get killed. Before I can even think of a way out of this, a familiar scent hits my nose: Peter. His wolf rushes towards the wolves pinning Samuel down and attacks without mercy.

My heart pounds in my chest as I watch him shake one of the wolves by the neck. Why must I be so useless? Peter is acting like a wolf protecting his precious mate from death. Why can’t I be the same way? Why do I have to be a damsel in distress once again?

Without warning, Trent drags me backward leaving their fates unknown. Feeling numb, I don’t struggle anymore as he pins me against a tree. He smirks coldly. “Looks like that mutt is just a stand in huh?+ thought he looked too much like a twink. He grabs my shirt and tears it bringing me out of my

trance.
