Amelia couldn't believe that Gabriel reprimanded her in public for Emily.
Gabriel had indeed noticed that something was off with Amelia. He stepped aside and called for Roman.
"Keep an eye on Amelia. Don't let her have any chance to stir trouble," he ordered.
Roman couldn't understand it, but he still agreed. "Yes, Mr. Holton."
Sure enough, Amelia still wanted to incite trouble in the next few days. She tried to pull the plug on the devices and secretly throw away some valuable medicine, but Roman stopped all of her tricks.
She was infuriated, and she also warned Roman, "Don't you dare tell Gabe about all these. Otherwise, I'll get him to fire you."
Roman promised her respectfully, but he immediately told Gabriel about everything.
"Mr. Holton, should we—"
"No need. Just keep a close eye on her," Gabriel cut him off.
Roman was planning to ask if they should take action against Amelia, but he swallowed the rest of his sentence, biting his tongue.
Roman thought Amelia was truly Gabriel's love that got away. The things that she had done could almost be considered as endangering lives, yet Gabriel still shielded her.
It seemed that Roman would have to stay away from Amelia as much as possible. He couldn't help but wonder if she would resent him for what he did this time around.
Because Roman was keeping watch, Amelia didn't have the chance to stir up trouble anymore, and the rest of the medical mission went on very smoothly.
…
One month flew by in the blink of an eye, and the mission concluded successfully.
It was a sunny and bright day as they headed home.
The medical team packed up their suitcases, and they all looked relaxed, having accomplished their mission.
The bus was stopped in an open area, waiting to depart.
Gabriel's black Bentley looked exceptionally striking there. Everybody thought it was prepared for Amelia.
Emily and Mallory loaded the last suitcase into the bus. But right as Emily was going to board the bus, a deep and assertive voice sounded behind her, saying, "Emily."
She stopped in her tracks. She looked back and saw Gabriel standing next to the Bentley, gazing intently at her.
He motioned to the car door with his chin and said, "Come and ride in this car."
As if what he said was a signal, it made everyone look at Emily at once.
Emily curled her lips, giving him a fake smile. Then, she turned around without hesitation, ready to board the bus.
"I said, ride in my car."
