Chapter 41 He Actually Blackmailed Her Using Mallory
However, if Emily were to make the video public, the reputation of the hospital would be
damaged.
Mallory thought of the same thing, so she gritted her teeth and suggested, “How about this? Let’s report this to Dr. Strebelle first and let him decide. If he decides not to make it public, then he needs to take responsibility and resolve this matter.”
Emily gave it thought and figured that would have to do.
However, Gabriel soon learned that they had the evidence.
After Emily got home from work, she sent the locksmith she had hired on his way, but she was stopped by Gabriel right at the door.
Gabriel enveloped her with the icy air he exuded as he ordered, “Delete the evidence.”
His tone was harsh, and his gaze was ice–cold.
Emily was surprised for a moment, but she quickly figured it out.
She looked at him with a sneer and asked, “What’s the matter? You want to personally destroy the evidence for your lover?”
Gabriel’s expression darkened. The air in the surrounding was thick with tension.
“Don’t talk to me in that tone, Emily. I don’t like it,” he said.
Emily got up slowly, looking right into his eyes indifferently as she said, “Well, what a coincidence. I don’t like you either. How about we file for divorce right now?”
He grabbed her neck. His grip was not strong, but it was incredibly threatening and humiliating.
Anger was surging in Gabriel’s eyes.
“Must you force me to treat you like this?” he asked.
Emily was forced to lift her head, meeting his eyes in disdain.
“I’ve already submitted the evidence to the hospital director. I can’t take it back anymore. Instead of forcing me, why don’t you quickly think of a way to have Amelia avoid jail time instead?” she said.

Gabriel was not bothered at all. “I’ve acquired the hospital today. I won’t let the video be published. Also, the video in Mallory’s email has been deleted by force by the IT staff. All that’s left now is yours,” he said.
So that was why Gabriel would know about this.
He actually acquired a hospital for Amelia.
Emily smiled and said, “I can delete it, but you have to divorce me.”
“Dream on,” Gabriel answered without any hesitation.
He seemed to have thought of something, and his tone softened.
“I’ve fired Dr. Lancaster. This matter ends here.”
He straightened his collar and said, “If you don’t want Mallory’s career to end here as well, don’t make the video public. I’ll handle the comments online.”
After saying that, he left, leaving Emily clenching her fists tightly. She couldn’t believe Gabriel actually blackmailed her using Mallory.
Besides, she had no choice but to give in. She could not get Mallory into trouble because of her own business.
Mallory came from an ordinary family. She had been through a great deal to reach her current position. If she were fired, how was her family supposed to survive?
Emily watched Gabriel’s back as he walked into the distance, and she had no choice but to suppress her resentment.
Fine. Since he said he would handle the comments online, it would be fine for her to let Amelia slide this time for the sake of Mallory. However, if this situation were to happen again, she would absolutely not let it go so easily.
Sure enough, the comments online were gone in the morning the next day.
Emily put her phone down, sneering.
As soon as she arrived at the hospital, the woman who had stirred up trouble yesterday saw her and immediately put on a fawning smile.
“Dr. Sterling, you’re here! I was wrong yesterday. I’ve misunderstood you. Please have mercy and forgive us,” said the woman.

She was holding a big bag, and she insisted on stuffing it into Emily’s hand.
“Dr. Sterling, this is a local treat from our hometown. It’s not worth much, but it’s our token of appreciation,” she explained.
Emily took a step back and said indifferently, “We have a no–gift policy here at the hospital.”
But the woman was relentless, and she was almost going to stuff the bag into Emily’s arms as she said, “If you don’t accept it, it means you’re just looking down on us!”
As both of them were in a tug of war, the bag slipped out of the woman’s hands. Then, at a thud, it fell onto the floor.
Something seemed to have broken in the bag, and a pungent smell of pickled food began to spread through the air.
The mood turned awkward in an instant.
