He grabbed her neck. His grip was not strong, but it was incredibly threatening and humiliating.

Anger was surging in Gabriel’s eyes.

“Must you force me to treat you like this?” he asked.

Emily was forced to lift her head, meeting his eyes in disdain.

“I’ve already submitted the evidence to the hospital director. I can’t take it back anymore. Instead of forcing me, why don’t you quickly think of a way to have Amelia avoid jail time instead?” she said.

lifted off her shoulders.

Emily ignored her and walked up to the bed to check on the patient.

She listened to the patient’s chest, looked at his pupils, and read the latest report. Everything

was within the normal range.

“Have a good rest,” Emily said, putting down her stethoscope before she left the room.

Once she completed her rounds, she gave it a thought and went to withdraw 500 dollars from the ATM. Then, she secretly tucked the money under the patient’s pillow.

She finally felt relieved after doing all that, and she began seeing other patients.

However, not long after that, someone opened her door.

The woman from earlier rushed in looking furious. She was followed by Adrain, who looked troubled.
