The Billionaire's Regret: His Secret Wife Turned Medical Genius novel Chapter 59

A wicked smile stretched across Amelia's lips as she looked at her phone screen after cutting the call.

Less than ten minutes later, the door to the villa swung open.

Gabriel didn't say a word as he got into his car and drove off.

Joy nearly overflowed from Amelia's eyes as she watched the car disappear from her line of sight.

After making sure that Gabriel had truly left, Amelia got out of her car and strolled over to the villa.

It was time for Emily's end.

Emily heard the sounds of the door being unlocked.

She swiftly lifted her head to warily look at the door.

Was Gabriel back? It seemed like it didn't take him long at all to take care of whatever business he had to attend to.

Emily felt her heart leap into her throat when the door slowly opened, revealing a slender figure that was illuminated by the light from behind.

Gabriel hadn't come back—it was Amelia.

Emily narrowed her eyes and wondered what Amelia was doing here.

Amelia fixed an appropriately shocked and concerned expression on her face as she rushed over to Emily. "Are you alright, Ms. Sterling?"

She gave Emily a onceover, and a pained expression appeared on her face when her eyes landed on Emily's red and swollen wrist. "Oh my God. How could Gabe do this to you?"

Emily coldly looked at Amelia and didn't say a word. She felt disgusted just looking at her insincere behavior.

However, it seemed that Amelia hadn't noticed the wariness in Emily's eyes. She simply retrieved a set of keys from her bag and placed it on the cabinet next to the door.

"Gabe left in a fit of rage after he locked you in here. I was worried, so I secretly followed him," Amelia began. "These are the spare keys for the villa. It wasn't easy for me to convince the administration department to hand them over. You should leave now before Mr. Holton comes back."

Amelia's words were dripping with sincerity while her eyes gleamed with anxiety. The way she acted made it seem like she was truly looking out for her, but Emily knew better. After all, why would someone who was determined to get rid of her set her free?

Emily inwardly scoffed.

She could tell that there was an even bigger trap waiting for her behind the villa's door. However, she would remain helpless if she stayed in the villa too. There was no signal here, and she was cut off from the world, so she was left at the mercy of Gabriel's insane whims.

She slowly rose to her feet and swept the dust from her clothes. Her eyes were calm as she looked at Amelia, giving nothing away. "Why are you helping me?" she asked.

Amelia was stunned for a moment before a wry smile appeared on her face. "I just don't want Gabe to do something he'll regret while his anger is affecting his actions.

"Besides, we're both women. I understand your circumstances."

It was the perfect response. Not only did she elevate herself, but she also painted herself as a kind person.

Amelia was truly a natural-born actress.

"Let go of me!" She struggled wildly, but it was only for the men to treat her even more roughly. One of them even used a towel that had been soaked in chemicals to cover her nose and mouth.

Before Emily lost consciousness completely, Amelia's smiling face floated to the forefront of her thoughts.

So, Amelia's real objective was to kill her.

Soon, the men forced Emily into the van, and the engine roared to life.

With that, the van sped away, leaving a cloud of dust in its wake.

Meanwhile, Amelia was sitting in a Porsche a short distance away. She lowered the binoculars from her eyes before grabbing a phone that she had prepared beforehand. Then, she sent a message to an unsaved number.

"Stick to the plan and send her to Galleon Sea. Dispose of her cleanly, and don't leave any traces."

After that, she deleted everything on the phone. Then, she pulled out the sim card and snapped it in half before tossing the pieces into the bushes next to the car.

It was over.

Emily was going to disappear from the face of the earth soon, and Gabriel would assume that she had escaped because she couldn't endure his torture anymore. He would never learn the truth of what happened.

As for Amelia, she would become the only woman by his side.

Amelia put on her sunglasses and turned on the engine, a triumphant smile stretched across her lips as she sped away.

It was as if she had never appeared near the villa in the first place.
