Amelia didn't know that someone had already noticed what she was up to from the moment she put her so-called flawless plan into motion. A net that was created specifically at her had already been cast.
…
Gabriel sat at his desk in his office. His face was emotionless as he looked at his computer screen.
The company's financial statements weren't displayed on the screen. Instead, it showed a recording of a call that he had just downloaded as well as a detailed record of international transfers.
He could hear every single word that Amelia had said with crystal clear clarity. His eyes were completely devoid of warmth as he thought of Amelia's past conversations about her so-called worry and kindness.
Now, he was finally aware of her true personality.
Gabriel had always thought that she was a little petty and stuck up, knowing that she would hatch up some harmless schemes to stay by his side. Nevertheless, he was tolerant toward her because she had saved his life in the past. But he never imagined that she was actually rotten to the core.
He picked up the internal phone and coldly gave his orders to his subordinates.
"Have Amelia leave Crestmont within the next three days."
…
That night, Gabriel drove his Bentley to the municipal hospital's entrance. He didn't alight from the car and simply sat inside watching the entrance.
A few moments later, a familiar silhouette appeared in his line of sight.
Emily was dressed in a white coat. Her footsteps seemed to be bogged down by exhaustion as she stepped out of the hospital.
Just as she was about to muster all her strength to free herself from him, an overwhelming force rushed at them from the side. Then, a large and defined hand clamped around Robert's wrist before forcefully yanking him away.
Robert let out a pained cry as he was forced to loosen his hold around Emily's wrist.
Emily lifted her head, stunned.
Gabriel was suddenly standing before her, but he wasn't looking at her. Instead, his eyes were trained on a pale Robert, pinning him with an icy glare. "How dare you touch my woman?"
Robert's legs had turned to jelly under Gabriel's unrelenting glare, and he subconsciously took a step backward. "This is between me and Mills. It has nothing to do with you!" he exclaimed, putting on a brave front.
A cruel smile stretched across Gabriel's thin lips. "How dare you say that this has nothing to do with me when Emily is my wife?"
