The Contract Said No Strings Attached (Charlotte) novel Chapter 471

Before leaving, Rebecca texted Noah to let him know she’d be out late—her boss had asked her to join a business dinner.

Noah replied with a single word: “Okay.”

As soon as he put down his phone, Ethan rushed over. “Is Mommy not coming home tonight?”

Noah looked at his son and nodded mildly. “Yeah, she said she’s got a work dinner.”

Ethan’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “Is Mommy going to the dinner with Daddy?”

Noah shook his head. “I don’t know. She just said she’s going with her boss.”

But Ethan was utterly convinced. His face was full of confidence. “Mommy’s boss is Daddy, isn’t he? They’re definitely going out for a candlelit dinner. Looks like their trip together really helped them get closer, hehehe.”

“Ethan, what makes you so sure they’re having a candlelit dinner?” Aiden couldn’t help but ask.

Ethan blinked and grinned. “That’s how it always is on TV! When the guy and the girl go out on a date, they have a fancy dinner with candles and everything, and then they fall in love.”

……

Rebecca sat in the car, listening as Dylan explained the situation with the Nova Project.

She frowned thoughtfully. “You really think Justin doesn’t know anything about this?”

Dylan glanced over at her.

Rebecca continued, “Isn’t it possible that Justin and Lionel are working together? Maybe Justin’s been covering for Lionel all along, hiding the truth and pinning the blame on the finance department?”

Her analysis made Dylan fall silent, lost in thought. It was possible, but so far, there was no concrete proof.
