The Contract Said No Strings Attached (Charlotte) novel Chapter 537

Seeing no reaction from George, Hogan asked impatiently, “By the way, where is the old master?”

George frowned slightly. “The old master hasn't been well lately and is resting. We need to confirm this with him first. Why don't you head home for now.”

Hogan was taken aback for a moment, then replied, “Alright, we’ll go home and wait for news. Then… what about this pendant?”

His eyes were glued to the pendant in George’s hand, full of reluctance.

Hogan reached out as if to take the pendant back.

But George gave him a look and said, “This pendant has always belonged to the Thomson family, so it should be returned to its rightful owner. Besides, I need it to confirm the truth of your story with the old master.”

Hogan quickly withdrew his hand, forcing a fawning smile. “Yes, yes, of course, it should be returned. But Mr. Thomson, if the old master remembers, you must let me know.”

George nodded. “Rest assured, if you truly saved his life, you will be well-rewarded.”

Hogan finally relaxed, smiling. “Thank you so much, Mr. Thomson. Thank you, Mr. Thomson, Mrs. Thomson.”

With that, he led Katherine and Jane out of the Thomson family’s living room.

Katherine followed her father, her eyes darting back to the pendant. It was the key to changing their fate, and now it was gone. Though she was resentful, she didn't dare say a word, merely pressing her lips together to suppress her frustration.

After the Foster family left, Mrs. Thomson sneered, “Hah, they want a reward? They should be glad I’m not settling old scores with them.”

George comforted her, “Let's calm down. First, let’s go ask Dad if any of this is true.”

Mrs. Thomson nodded.

In his room, the old master was sitting in a recliner by the window, looking somewhat tired but still possessing an authoritative air.
