The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 13

A slow smile curled on Jessa’s lips, her heart brimming with sweetness as she melted into David’s arms. She tilted her face up to him, her eyes shining. “I knew you couldn’t let me go. You’d never leave me.”

David was Rockford Bay’s richest man, impossibly handsome, with that air of untouchable power. He was everything she had ever dreamed a man could be.

But three years ago, after his accident left him in a coma, the doctors had said he would never wake up. How was she supposed to waste her youth waiting for someone who might never come back? So she left.

No one expected Ella to step in and marry him, and even less for David to wake up just three years later. Jessa still didn’t understand how it had happened. Maybe Ella just had good luck or some kind of mystical energy that brought him back. Even the doctors called it a miracle.

So Jessa returned. She was sure David loved her. He wouldn’t turn his back on her.

David studied her face, his voice low. “If not for what happened back then, do you really think I’d spoil you like this?”

At the mention of the past, Jessa tensed, a flicker of guilt in her eyes. She quickly changed the subject. “Did you ever sleep with Ella?”

David’s gaze was steady. “If I didn’t sleep with her, who would I sleep with? You?”

She already knew the answer. She just wanted to hear him say it. He caught on and let the conversation turn playful, a little teasing.

Jessa loved this side of him. He was older, self-assured, and his words could make her cheeks burn. She wanted to strip away that cool exterior and see the heat he kept hidden.

She shifted boldly, swinging a leg over his lap and settling herself on him, arms draped around his neck. Her lips brushed close to his, her voice soft and tempting. “Do you want me?”

Aiden, always discreet after years working for David, quietly raised the partition between them and the driver.
