The boys came charging at Ella and Lilly.

It didn’t take long for chaos to break out around the school. Shouts rang out everywhere. “There’s a fight! They are fighting!”

Mr. Lynch was in the principal’s office, busy grading papers, when he heard the commotion. He rushed outside, his voice sharp. “What’s happening out here?”

A breathless student hurried over. “Mr. Lynch, Wesley brought a gang and cornered Ella and Lilly… It’s bad… They’re pulling hair and scratching faces…”

Mr. Lynch’s face froze. He and a counselor didn’t waste a second, sprinting toward the scene.

Even from a distance, Mr. Lynch could see the aftermath. Wesley’s friends were sprawled across the ground, knocked out cold by Ella’s mysterious sleeping powder. Wesley was pinned down, Ella gripping his hair while Lilly clawed at his face, both of them unleashing all their pent-up frustration.

Wesley shrieked in pain. “Ow! My hair! My face! Stop!”

Mr. Lynch just stared, stunned.

He’d come running, thinking Ella and Lilly were the ones in trouble. But now, it was the other way around. Wesley didn’t stand a chance, and his hair was getting yanked out by the handful.

People always said girls were hard to handle, but this was something else. When girls fought, they fought for real.

“Let go of me! Get off!” Wesley wailed. “I’m the Ross family’s only son! I’m telling my parents and they’ll get you kicked out of Central College!”

The counselor stomped his foot, fuming. “Unbelievable! Absolutely unbelievable! Fighting right on school grounds! Call their parents, all of them! Everyone’s parents need to come in!”

He shot a look at Mr. Lynch. “Mr. Lynch, didn’t you personally approve Ella’s admission? Look at this mess…”

Mr. Lynch straightened up, wanting no part of the blame. “I was just following orders. Ella has a guardian. Call her guardian to deal with this.”

Outside the counselor’s office, students packed the hallway, craning their necks to watch the drama.
