The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 137

Back in the girls’ dorm, she had tried to explain, hadn’t she? But he never gave her a chance. He just tore into her, barely letting her get a word out. The light in her eyes faded right then.

David felt a stab of guilt thinking about it.

But almost immediately, he shook it off. After all, wasn’t she the one who got herself into this mess? She’d been at Central College for only two days and already managed to catch the attention of Wesley. David had seen the way Wesley looked at her. As a guy, he knew exactly what that meant. If she had just apologized, maybe acted a little cute, Wesley probably would have let it go. David wouldn’t have had to step in at all.

That thought made David’s mood turn sour again. She managed to attract guys wherever she went.

He brought her here to study, not to start some romance.

She better not even think about dating.

David turned and locked eyes with his assistant. “Aiden, you seem to have a thing for Ella, don’t you?”

It wasn’t like this was the first time Aiden had sided with her.

Aiden straightened up, flustered. “Sir, I just think Mrs. Harmon is a better match for you.”

David let out a cold laugh. Lately, it felt like everyone around him was falling under Ella’s spell. What did she have that made everyone so captivated?

Sarah ended her call with Jessa, feeling smug. She glanced at the clock. By now, Ella should be packing her stuff, getting kicked out of Central College.

That’s when she spotted Wesley. His parents were practically dragging him into their luxury car, the three of them hurrying away with their heads down.

“Avery!” Sarah called out in surprise. She ran after them a couple of steps. “Avery, why are you leaving? Isn’t Ella the one who should be going?”

Why was Wesley leaving? Did something go wrong?

Just then, her phone buzzed. There was a new post on the Central College student forum.
