The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 170

“David,” Jessa chimed in from his side, her tone light but pointed. “You don’t even like Ella, and you two were bound to split up eventually. Now she’s found her own happiness, and with Atlas, of all people. He’s the guy every socialite in town has tried and failed to win over. Shouldn’t we be happy for her, David?”

David’s cold, sharp gaze faltered for just a second.

Right then, the birthday cake appeared, candles flickering as someone called out, “Time for the birthday star to make a wish and blow out the candles.”

Atlas leaned in and blew them out, then started cutting the cake. The first piece was his, naturally, but instead of eating it, he held it up right in front of Ella’s lips.

Ella shot him a look, playfully suspicious, then leaned in to take a bite. Atlas pulled the fork away at the last moment, just teasing her.

She rolled her eyes at him, but there was a smile tugging at her lips. Playing along, she gave him a gentle punch to the chest with her fist, half-pouting, half-laughing.

Atlas couldn’t help but laugh, wrapping his arm around her shoulders and pulling her into his side.

“Aww they are so cute,” someone teased.

“This cake is nothing compared to the PDA they’re feeding us,” another joked.

Their playful back-and-forth had everyone cracking up.

Atlas offered the fork to Ella again, and this time she took a small bite. Then, with a sly grin, Atlas leaned down and ate the rest of the cake right from where her lips had touched.

The room buzzed with laughter and cheers, everyone soaking in the sweetness.

Amid all the fun, Ella suddenly felt someone’s eyes on her. She looked up and met David’s icy, unreadable stare.

He was watching her, face clouded and distant.

Was he upset? She hadn’t done anything wrong. If anything, it was his precious Jessa who had set her up with Atlas.

Ella, tucked comfortably in Atlas'arms, flashed David a bright, dazzling smile.

David just glared back, his face cold.

Jessa nudged him, still smiling. “David, look how cute Ella and Atlas are together.”

Jessa hooked her arm through David’s and said cheerfully, “Ella looked after David for three years, so of course he wants to make it up to her. Naturally, he wants her to find someone good.”

Ella slipped her arm through Atlas'and glanced at David, her smile sparkling in her eyes. “Congratulations, Mr. Harmon. You got your wish.”

David just looked at her, silent.

“I’ll drive you home, Ella,” Atlas offered.

“Okay.”

Atlas opened the passenger door for her, and Ella slid inside. In seconds, the sports car had pulled away and vanished down the street.

Atlas and Ella were gone.

Jessa smiled at David. “Ready to take me home?”
