The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 179

Jessa looped her arm through David’s. “David, let’s share a room.”

Atlas slipped his arm around Ella’s shoulders. “Ella, looks like we’re roommates.”

David glanced at Ella. She met his eyes and nodded. “Sure.”

She was actually agreeing to share a room with Atlas.

David pressed his lips together, looking away for a second.

Ella could feel David watching her. When she looked up, she locked eyes with him, his gaze cold and unreadable.

Why was he staring at her like that?

Her mind flashed back to that awkward message from two nights ago. She’d practically wanted to disappear. Now, she just looked away calmly.

The resort manager broke the silence with a friendly smile. “Mr. Harmon, Mr. Moore, we have two suites. One is the Diamond Presidential Suite, the other is the Pearl Presidential Suite. How would you like to decide who gets which?”

The manager jumped in quickly. “How about a competition? Winner gets the Diamond suite. That’s the fairest way, right?”

Jessa perked up. “What kind of competition?”

“There’s a ten-minute drive from here to the ocean-view villas. We’ve got two sports cars parked outside. Let’s have a race.”

A race?

David’s eyes flickered with surprise. He hadn’t expected this. Was she really brave enough to race against him?

How good could she be?

“Ready, set, go!”

The manager’s voice barely faded before the two cars shot forward, engines roaring.

David had been racing for years. He was good at everything he tried, hardly ever meeting a real challenge.

But this time, Ella’s car stuck right with his, matching him move for move. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t shake her.

Well, this just got interesting.

If she wanted to play, he’s in.

A slow grin spread across David’s face as he suddenly jerked the steering wheel...
