The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 181

Atlas grinned. “So when Ella talked about her secret weapon, she meant Jessa.”

David looked puzzled. “Secret weapon?”

Atlas chuckled. “Back when you and Ella were neck and neck, she said Jessa’s got a weak heart. No matter how good you drive, you wouldn’t be able to go all out with Jessa in the car. She figured Jessa would slow you down, so she was counting on her to help her win.”

Did she really say that?

David watched Ella walk away, a small smile tugging at his lips.

Atlas bumped his shoulder against David’s. “She’s something else, isn’t she?”

David just raised an eyebrow and kept quiet.

Meanwhile, Jessa stood there, completely ignored and fuming. Was she invisible or what?

……………

Ella and Atlas checked into the Diamond suite on the top floor, while Jessa and David took the Pearl one. The hot springs at this resort were famous, and everyone was planning to relax there that night. Fiona and Sarah had just arrived too.

Fiona pulled Ella aside. “Come on, let’s go buy bikinis.”

They headed straight to the boutique, where rows of bikinis in every style and color filled the racks. Fiona’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “Ella, with that body of yours, we need to find something gorgeous. You have to show off a little.”

The words had barely left her mouth when Sarah’s sarcastic voice drifted over. “Some people are just born ugly ducklings. Doesn’t matter how hard they try, they’ll never be a swan.”

Jessa and Sarah had followed them in. It didn’t take long before David and Atlas showed up, too.

Atlas wandered over to Ella. “What’s everyone talking about?”

The owner beamed. “You have great taste, miss. This pink one is perfect for someone with your complexion.”

She was just about to hand it over when Jessa’s voice rang out. “I want that one, too.”

Jessa’s eyes gleamed with challenge as she stepped forward. She wasn’t about to let Ella have the spotlight, especially after losing the race. Tonight, she was determined to turn heads in the hot springs.

How could a small-town girl like Ella possibly compete?

The owner hesitated. “Sorry, but that’s the last one in this color.”

Jessa shrugged and gave the owner a sly smile. “Well, you’re running a business, right? Highest offer wins.”

Then she looped her arm around David’s and looked up at him with a sweet, pleading smile. “David, I really want that pink bikini. Will you buy it for me?”
